I have to write an 5 paragraph essay on King Lear based on the topic "Loyalty is a quality that must be hidden throughout King Lear. Why?".
I have been sitting for hours trying to figure out what my thesis will be and I still do not know. Someone please provide me some help or advice. I would be very grateful. This essay is worth 15% of my final mark and I am very scared that I will not do well on it. Please help me. I would really appreciate it.

Ugh man, I didn't really like King Lear too much. I had to read it for AP Literature. Here's something I remember though. Cordelia and many of the other characters have to disguise themselves in order to help the people that they care about in the story. Loyalty has to be hidden because the characters are blinded by other motives in the story and have to be awakened. I'd say visit King Lear's sparknotes page too, it's really helpful to make sure you understand.

Uh... it's been about a week since you posted this but...
Kent and Edgar had to disguise themselves in order to help the ones they loved. Kent had to disguise himself because King Lear banished him but Lear did not actually see that Kent was trying to help Lear from making a huge mistake of banishing Cordelia. It shows that Kent was loyal to Lear by disguising himself to try and protect him from danger when Lear goes crazy.
Edgar disguised himself as a beggar, where later on he eventually sees his father (Gloucester) blind and wants to lead him away from danger when Gloucester wants to commit suicide. Edgar tricks his father into thinking that he fell and survived the fall and he was meant to stay alive.
These two loyal characters must disguise themselves because both were banished (Edgar for being accused of trying to kill his father and Kent for trying to prevent Lear from banishing Cordelia). Ew I can't believe I remember all of this, bad explanation but I'm pretty bored lol.
