i tend to avoid people other than ones who i know SUPER well.....like i'll cut the conversation short or i'll start sweating~
Like say i'm in a setting i don't know very well or i'm with people who i'm not very close with, i automatically get the thoughts of hiding and getting away because im SO nervous. sleep.gif my stomach churns like hell and i feel like im stuttering when i talk. maybe im weird but yeah O.O

Anyone have social anxiety??
Like, being around people makes you nervous to the point you wanna avoid the situations and you feel real physical symptoms from it.
If so, how do you relax and get over social anxiety?? I know people will say to just 'face the fears' but how are you supposed to deal with it when you're nervous like that. ohmy.gif i'm in college and i really wanna socialize with new people, but most of the time, i avoid doing it because i don't wanna deal with the social anxiety symptoms.

Well first off, what's so scary about people? Really? I mean..what's so scary about people you don't know versus people you do know well? If you were willing to give your close friends the chance to get close to you why not give strangers that same chance? Maybe you should sit down and figure out just exactly what you're scared of. It'll be easier to tackle the problem that way.

In any case, I don't think anyone really claims that facing your fears is easy. Rather, it is necessary if you want to 'get over it'.
Let me know when the sky falls down so I can catch it.

I understand that people can get nervous when around people they don't really know... but why exactly are you nervous to the point that you shake? Is it like an automatic feeling?.. and why are you so scared of the people? They're just... people, I'm sure they aren't out to get you. My advice to getting over the fear.. is to spend more time with other people, you'll start getting used to being around them, realize that's there's nothing to fear, try moving out of your comfort zone.

do you work? i think finding a job might help because then you'll always be talking to customers (if you're working in retail, hospitality, etc) and coworkers as well. You might be less nervous after you gain experience talking with more people from work.

Don't know if you can call what I had full-fledged social anxiety, but I just got a job in public service that required me to deal with a lot of people and within a few months I didn't have trouble dealing with/talking to/interacting with people on an individual basis, or in groups, anymore.
