I don't know if there's any thread like this...
Hopefully, I just notice the Aaliyah movie will be out sometimes next year (2010) because they're already started filming. The movie starring Keshia Chante, she's playing Aaliyah. The movie production will also be include Missy Elliott, Timbaland, Ginuwine and some other singers/actors to be in the film as well. They're also re-creating a music video for "Rock The Boat". I can't wait to see the movie.

RIP AALIYAH/LEFT-EYE/JANG aka SUNNY of B.O.F/MICHAEL JACKSON

Same. I loved her music, but she didn't become a legend until she died. Still I think if she was still alive and making music, she would be in the same circle as Beyonce.
Regardless, I'm not interested in this movie. Why? I don't enjoy crying so I won't watch a movie when I know how sad the ending will be.

Thank you!
Aaliyah has done enough for the industry and she was an amazing role model for us young girls
she (Along with TLC) taught me that you don't have to dress sexy and to sell.
Aallyah is another angel that god called home, I Michael gives her a hug <3

She made a difference in the music industry and her voice is indeed one of a kind. And in her videos, she doesn't go over the top sexy and she makes it her unique style.
One of my favorite music videos has got to be "We Need A Resolution"/Are You That Somebody and the old schools "One in a Million"/If Your Girl Only Knew
edit:
anyways, i hope the actress who plays aaliyah does a good job. I'll be looking forward watching this film.

To say Aaliyah made no contribution to the music industry is really just
Respect..as an artist, she deserves that much at least.
I like the idea of a movie. Sometimes it's just good to know you're not the only one who still remembers..
(Just watched Queen of the Damned a few days ago..she really was a gorgeous girl. I think she was that role model for many of the black females(teens or not) growing up in the 90's..I know she was for me : )
If at first you don't succeed..
dust yourself off and try again...
That's been my motto for life.
@ LucasBunny ~ boy oh boy do I miss me some TLC..
Waterfalls and Unpretty were always my favorites..

She was someone a lot of girls looked up to. She wasn't overtly sexy, and her music was really catchy. Girls of all races and social classes liked her, and I think that's something really positive.

No that's not true. She might not be considered one of the greatest of all time but she's definitely important.
Also, she had a pretty interesting personal life that I think would make for a good movie.

you're right, i love aaliyah esp. her dance moves and soothing voice... you have ciara, and beyonce in your generation well we had aaliyah in ours. if she didnt died she wouldve been much bigger and brighter

Agree! Aaliyah is my favorite. This generation music some likes what not. Still my favorite out of r&b music.
She works hard on her part! She graduated high school & college. She chose her path and succeeded her dream of becoming a singer artist and went more becoming an actress. Romeo Must Die. Queen of the Damned. The Matrix but got replaced after her death. 'Honey' supposed to be her role character.
