Not sure if there is a thread about this. I tried searching through google and didn't find anything so if there is already a topic on this please close this thread. Thank you!

I had heard awhile back that they were turning Enders' Game into a movie and I started wondering what had ever happened to it so I did some searching and found out that they scrapped the movie. *SAD* But I do admire Orson Scott Card.
QUOTE
Apparently Orson Scott Card is intricately involved in the development process, as any good author should be. In regards to the version that Wolfgang Petersen was attached to direct at Warner Brothers, it was scrapped in November because "Card did not feel comfortable with the movie's direction." He told the LA Times that "he was not interested in a 'tough-hero action film' and refuses to condescend to green-screen Hollywood." In turn, he imagines a "film where the human relationships are absolutely essential — an honest presentation of the story." I don't think anyone is opposed to that, especially fans of the book.

So, just as the title states, things (books, comics, etc..) you want to see turned into movies.
So how about you? What would you like to see?
You can add which actors/actresses you would like to play which characters as well if you'd like.

My choice would obviously be Enders' Game. Maybe somehow they can put together both Enders' Game and Enders' Shadow so as to somehow intricately intertwine both Bean and Ender's stories.
QUOTE
Card eventually wants "Ender's Game" to be adapted, but only as long as it's done right.

I guess i'll just have to wait patiently til that day comes. happy.gif
Some say i'm a genius, others say i'm crazy
but they all say i'm a little on the weird side

I'm still waiting for Life of Pi by Yann Martel to be turned into a movie. It switched over to many directors until it just... stopped. No one took it anywhere. So sad. I really wanted to see how the movie would turn out.

oh so many things...

the comic book "runaways", but i guess it's already in the planning stages. i've always thought that annasophia robb would make a great karolina and max thieriot (his co-star in "jumper") would be a good chase. maybe ryan newman as molly because her character in "zoom" IS molly.
"sandman", for sure. "death: the high cost of living" is in development, supposedly, but i want sandman, with dream and the rest of the endless. don't know who i want in the cast.
any good story arcs from marvel and dc comics. "civil war", "house of m", "phoenix: endsong", "batman: hush", "the long halloween", "marvels", "kingdom come", etc etc etc. seriously every time i read comic books i think of how it would make a great movie basically.
the musical "wicked". won't happen for a few years, but eventually it will. i wanna work on that movie, basically. and my dream is to have anne hathaway and kristen bell as elphaba and galinda. i love the obc to death, but they're too old at this point.
speaking of musicals, "spring awakening". will be a REAL challenge to adapt to screen, but supposedly the right's been bought. it needs to happen soon though so we can have jonathan groff and lea michele before they look too old to play teenagers (show's closed on broadway anyway).
i've always wondered why they never adapted any of meg cabot's other books, especially the adult ones, into movies. i love "the guy next door", i think it has great potential for a romantic comedy. i remember thinking some time ago that caroline dhavernas and tyron leitso from "wonderfalls" would be great in the cast.
which reminds me: "wonderfalls". and "dead like me". and "pushing daisies". all of bryan fuller's canceled series, basically, because i need closure (and no, i mean a REAL "dead like me" movie, with rube and the old daisy). even better if they could just be resurrected but alas.

i'll think of more.

^ I'm definitely with you on Bryan Fuller's cancelled shows. I want a real closer, not some cut short ending because FOX is not a faithful company and all they believe is money. I bet you if they had better advertised these shows, the fan base would be much larger. for Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls that is. As for Dead Like Me... man was I disappointed when it was cancelled. Amazing take on the life of a reaper... and just amazing. I didn't even realize that they had made a movie until a couple months ago.. but when I heard it wasn't even the original cast, I didn't even want to attempt to watch it.

Someday, I would like to own a production company that would continue the multitude of FOX's shows they cancelled that are worth to give it another chance.

And AMEN to you on that for Spring Awakening and Wicked. I would love to see that. Possibly also have a movie for In the Heights and it would be a stretch for me, but I adore the Light in the Piazza! My dream would be for Miss Saigon, too.. hehe.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Everworld series or Abhorsen trilogy made into movies either.

I want to see The Coldest Winter by Sister Soulja and Jemina J by Jane Green. Those would be great to watch! I'd probably star Keke Palmer as Winter in TCW and Christina Hendricks at Jemina J. =]

pushing daisies was on abc actually, but either way i've lost faith in network television. they just canceled 'kings' after putting it in a friday night and then saturday night slot? if that's not lack of faith in a show i don't know what is. and yeah, you're saving yourself a world of disappointment by not watching the dead like me movie. it's all kinds of messed up.

I used to always put Tomorrow, When the War Began down in these threads, but I don't have to do that anymore because they are finally making a film, yeah!

So, now I have to come up with something new to champion, um... The Secret History by Donna Tartt or A Sandman half-hour animation or maybe live-action series would be awesome.
