so who here listens to music when they study? if you do, please list what sorts of music you listen to! chill electronic music? classical music?

do you find that it helps you concentrate/motivates you? or just entertains you, so you're not as bored? (:



for me, i definitely do! it helps to pass the time, so it doesn't feel like forever. i especially like to listen to movie soundtracks and yiruma (pianist).

i dont focus. i think i am but im not really focusing. i realized that i understand the material better hwen im studying in silence. lol

I do. It's not that helpful because I kind of get distracted. But it's alright.

For me, it depends on what I'm studying at the moment. If it's something easy like english then I'll listen to some music. However, if it's math and calculus then I need total silence to concentrate.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm writing an essay or a lab report, I appreciate silence because I can think better. If I'm working on science/math problems, I don't mind having some background music because usually it feels like busywork.

i used to when i studied in the library at school for my first 2 years of college. i kept it simple. instrumental stuff, soothing piano melodies, etc. it kept me awake and didn't distract me since the music didn't have words.

but these days i can't study to music since i need absolute silence.
