How do I get around with no public transportation? OMG guys! I bow down to those who takes these situations so well! It's not like it's my first time going to college, but being far away to go to college really scares me! Are you moving to a rural college? That is the only issue I can see when you have limited food options. And are you not a freshman? You're "not my first time going to college" comment confused me.
Well, it is a common anxiety so don't feel alone! I'm sure nearly everyone in your class is feeling the same thing you are. When you move into the dorm you'll see that a lot of people feel this way, and are more than willing to make a friend. Sometimes resident advisors have a floor party for everyone to meet and those can be great. Once you start making friends it won't seem so scary but some place to familiarize yourself with, and all of the adventures you and your friends embark upon.
For food, sometimes dining halls try to diversify their menu so I wouldn't be too worried, but I can't answer for all of them. Usually places try to cater to students so there might be more places to eat than you think. Or you can join clubs and they might have cooking parties, or befriend older classmen who have their own kitchens.
Though you have to understand that you are moving away from home, and in that sense, away from your comfort zone entirely. And I don't think you would have chosen the college really if you hadn't considered that. It's a big change, but a great, and sometimes necessary change as you transition into adulthood. So enjoy! These are (supposedly) the best years of your life

how far are you going away from home? you still get to go back for vacations. as for asian groceries and rides, actually public transportation should be available and included with your tuition! so you can take the bus basically anywhere. there should be close groceries stores nearby your college. and you can always find friends with cars and hitch a ride with them. if they're asians and decide to drop by asian groceries, then just go with them! you can also bring packaged food to college. cup noodles are great for college! microwavable rice too. don't worry, you'll miss your family but theres so much going on in college that you won't be alone that much
