Fine I'm being unbiased due to excess complaints. Now it's just straight answers.

2010 Ford Mustang GT : $35,625 315/325 4.6L V8

2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track : $30,375 306/266 3.8L V6

2009 Nissan 370Z ( optional ) : $29,900 332/270 3.7L V6

Didn't I? No. Haha. I did :). ↓

Those are your opinions, here are mine smile.gif. Is power everything? the Mustang has a huge engine so it doesn't have to stress and also because it has a lot more torque and more room to mod.

For me, I will buy both but since my dad owned 2 previous mustangs back in the 80s, I will lean to that since he still has his heart for the mustang. The Genesis has too long of a bonnet and the curved front makes it look like a retarded smile. Those are my opinions. There is nothing about which is better based on stats and based on your opinion.

i mean numbers are one thing, but its up to taste. some people like brute force dragster with history/name, while others may like the arguably more stylish, boy racer car with agility. also Hyundai has too much stigma to go with its name, its getting better, but a lot of people cant get around that and its resale value or w/e. I personally like the looks the mustang, cant say much about its driving ability. but that's just my 2 cents...

I don't know where you're getting your numbers but your numbers are off. Comparing the slowest 1/4 mile time for the mustang to the fastest Genesis times doesn't make your argument better. And C&D tested the Genesis and it's skidpad numbers came out to .87g for the track version.

And then your opinion is so obviously biased towards the Genesis that I don't even know why you would ask others which car is better, since clearly, in your opinion, the Genesis owns the Mustang.

Ford Mustang looks better. Mustang have a long history for a muscle car. Hyundai? No street cred at all. So, I rather have the mustang than a ugly Hyundai.

Maybe I'm biased against Hyundai because they make crappy ass cars. I owned a 03 Elantra and after 3 years it was repair after repair. I got sick of paying for the repairs and decided to sell it. Guess what? No one wanted to buy it. I ended up selling it for $4000 with 50k miles. Maybe Hyundai quality and resale value have gotten better. But I will never touch a Hyundai again in my life.

And your numbers are wrong. I know a stock 05 Mustang can put up faster numbers than that.

I think the Genesis looks like this:

i like the new look of the mustang. genesis rear is nice, but front is too ugly for me. If i HAD to pick one, i think id rather go for the mustang.

I'm all for the Mustang for brute force and the ability to easily send it sideways, but in times like these, I'd rather take the Genesis with the de-tuned version of the Evo X's 2.0L 4-banger turbo.

Absolutely USELESS in a practical sense, and defeats Hyundai's principle of putting affordability as a priority. You only see figures like those in expensive supercars (BMW's, etc.), and Prototype cars that ran Le Mans in the 90's like the Toyota GT-ONE (which was 3.6L) and the Nissan R390 GT1 (which even then only had a 3.5L V8).
The time it takes for me to look at you is the time it takes for me to realize it's too late.

the New mustang GT's (and again I question why the OP says 2005 mustang when he's using 2010's model) do around 13.6 @ 105 mph in the 1/4 mile.

So, the OP is talking about the 2010 versions of both cars right? Cause I'm like O.o? After scanning through the post.

Anyways, for me I don't care about power. I'm not a racer or a modder(yet anyways). I would go for the Genesis Coupe because I like what it has to offer for the price and you can't beat the warranty. Also, I heard good experience from recent cars from people that I know.

^That's not what I've read. From what I've read, Hyundai dealerships are not honoring the 10 year/100,000 mile power-train warranty. And a lot of people are having major problems after 20-50k miles.

It looks like it's good for the first 2 years then it's straight downhill from there for Hyundai reliability.

I wouldn't pay $30g for a Hyundai.
I don't care how they package it.

I'm not saying much about the 370Z, because well... it makes no sense, it runs 13.3secs @ 105.7mph. Both cars are nicer than the Mustang GT, i can tell you that.

What about it doesn't make sense?

The Genesis is ugly. I just hate it. I'm not a big fan of the Mustang either but if I had a choice between the two, I'd get a 370z. But that's not an option, I'd really get a Mustang over a Genesis, period. The Mustang looks like it actually had a theme. The Genesis looks like a bunch of shapes put together.

ahh actually the back of the GT is nice. but my thing is that i just posted this up for OTHER people to argue. not against me lol, its just there for show so people can start talking. besides, my uncle has my supra, and it has a T88H, running 10.8x average, faster than both so, its whatever.

Here's a pict of it smile.gif) if u dont believe it.

Very stock, but a T88H is what it makes it powerful. @ bandimere speedway

So what if its 60's look. If its selling who cares. Plus the 60's look is great for cars since todays cars are becoming more and more bland. Example? The genesis.

This is hard.

I do like the retro look of the Mustang. I know it's not agile and only good for going fast in a straight line. It also probably chugs gas.

While as the Hyundai is like a Korean Ninja, out of no where Hyundai drops the Genesis and over night becomes the poster child of the Korean sports car.

Now... Mustang has lots of history, people know about it, brute force, looks bad a$$.
The Hyundai, lighter, more agile, just as fast, if not faster. It is newer, a new design... but it still is a Hyundai.

Hyundai aren't known to build sports cars per se, but then again if someone says American Car, they probably get an image of some Ford or Dodge truck.

Over all, for everyday driving, I would get the Genesis. Probably better on gas and I could b*tch out the customer service rep in Korean (I am Korean, speak it fluently) and hopefully have the chance of getting free stuffs for my troubles. I am hoping they give the full-service Korean treatment (highly doubt it).

If I had extra cash to burn, then I would probably get the Mustang. If I wanted to be carefree, wasteful, bashful and just do whatever I wanted, I would get the Mustang. I don't know why and I am not saying Mustang drivers are like me, but when I imagine the Mustang logo, the horsey, I imagine wild horses running free on the open range out in the Midwest, Ahhh the sun setting, the cool night ahead of of me, wind blowing in my hair, I am the Marlboro man.

I dont know... I'm weird. Now that I think about it, I dont know which car I would get. I think it would be a spur of the moment kind of thing.

Truth. For $30g there are so many cars to choose from! But if I absolutely had to choose between these two cars, I'd have to take the mustang just cuz of its long history and tradition. Hyundai? Bleh, no thanks.

mustang looks nicer. speed isnt everything bro. stang probably sounds better as well. you spelled controversy wrong, btw. imho, at 30grand, id rather take a bmw 328 coupe or a c300 anyway. back of the hyundai looks really nice but the front just looks like.... a hyundai..

We don't care if he has a fast supra.

As for the 2 cars, It's stil up in the air, but I will admit the interior wasn't bad on the Genesis

For $30g, I'd put that as a down payment for a M3.

I don't know why Hyundai would make a 30k car. Same goes for Honda and it's Mugen SI.
