"But I'm hard-headed. I don't want to believe that fairytales don't exist.
I still believe in happy endings. It always depends upon the person."

My friend said this; who was having difficulties with her second boyfriend. A year or so before that, she broke up with her first boyfriend for almost 5 years. ( Btw, she's 21. tongue.gif )

Are there still a lot of you guys out there who believe in these kind of things?

IMHO(in my honest opinion),
I choose to not believe in true love and happily ever afters, because I believe it doesn't really exist - because everything is too momentary.
but.. BUT!
I hope it proves me wrong, because I want to believe in it.
It's nice being optimistic, right? smile.gif

People make their own destiny. If you want happy endings you gotta work for it. I guess thats sorta what I think is true.

I totally agree. You can't just sit back and expect for it to happen. You gotta work for it.

I agree with the first post as well. You have to work for your happily ever afters. You have to compromise, sweat, and understand. If there is a guy and a girl. And they are together, but the girl is always telling the guy what to do, making him not hang out with friends as often, telling him to work so they can pay the money, the guy may get tired and annoyed and leave the girl. Both if the girl was more supportive, let him have his freedom, and bothers him less often then maybe the guy would love her even more and they'll be together for an extremely long time. So I guess it really depends. But I totally believe in working and bending over a bit for each other.

face it. we don't live in a fairy tale world. if we did, well, wouldn't we all be married to our princes and princesses by now? nope. all of life is a gamble. but here's my philosophy: everything's okay in the end. if it's not okay, then it's not the end.

sometimes i think people look for happily ever after too early in their lives. i mean, i'm 21 too and i'm not in any hurry to find someone to spend the rest of my life (another 60-70 years) with them. it comes to us when it comes. quit looking for happily ever after because when you're not looking, it's just gonna hit you right in the face.

live life a little before you start thinking about happily ever after.

She knows it doesn't exist but desperately wants to believe in what's being sold to her by the media in order to validate her own fragile, childlike ego.

Sad.

Optimistic? Yes. Delusional? No.

Happily ever afters never last. It's not so much about the happy ending, it's more about the happy memories spent together through the ups and downs in life, now that lasts forever.

Happily ever afters do not exist because life has too many variables that are not within our control. I'm content with just being happy in the present.

Life doesn't always work on the way we plan it to.
For me, happy endings are too luring I would say. Yeah, they end but it's typical it's just easier to end things.
I mean when you're young and brainless, but it's all about reality when you mature and grow from love.

Boy, does Walt Disney make you feel satisfied to know that it's Cinderella's story after all. It's pretty sad to know if you want a story like her's. Imagine if they went off and wrote that she didn't meet a prince, it would be pretty interesting laugh.gif .
