Supposedly lighter and more aerodynamic. I liked the red/white jerseys for the East. The pure blue crap for the West was hideous. As soon as I saw Joe Sakic in his blue uniform, I changed the channel for a while.

they look good! I was rather amazed when Bettman did that demo during the 1st intermission, pouring the glass of water onto the jersey, and Ron Maclean said "Like water off a duck's back."

Were there any live demonstrations?
At one point Brian Jennings took one of the new jerseys, stretched it out over his lap, and poured a glass of water onto it, so we could see how it repelled water. Sure enough, the water rolled right off of it ("just like after you Turtle Wax your car," as Jennings put it). Another NHL exec later told me, "He's been dying to do that trick all day."

looks like they used the cup of water trick quite a few times in demos. :-)


guess i'm the typical american sports fan...i'm more interested in the jerseys than the game itself. haha

if it improves player performance, then I'm all for changes to the uniform, but.. I just don't want them messing with the size of the nets, or size of the pucks.

I'm liking the new uniforms though. I just wonder how many teams are going to change their team logos..

All the quotes of the game were awesome. Ryan Smyth with multiple ones were great. The 2 coaches were great. Luongo was doing great, especially during the Raj Binder interview, Luongo came out of no where and was like, "He is having some severe sweating problems."

It was against Ottawa I think. He got hip checked and was on the bench in pain but came back a few minutes later and kept playing.
