Another reason is that this year's draft lacks top end talent (no crosby, malkin, ovechkin) but it's extremely deep. A 2nd round pick is equivalent to a low 1st round pick...

hahaha..I never thought I'd see the day when Sopel would be back in town. I like the Smolinski signing, though.

...then again, I liked the Carney signing last year, too, until he..well.. you know.

i wasnt expecting a deal to get a defenseman but i like those two deals very much.. we got a good two way centre (thats what ive read, ive never seen him play much) to play with nazzy and our defense is now pretty much rock solid

^ I thought the Oilers would get like Jason Blake in exchange for Smyth. Then I saw what the Oilers got in return and shook my head. Oilers are definitely not going to the post season at this point.

I like watching sports highlights on Sportsnet over TSN though. Broadcasts on The Score urk me.

JFJ sucked since forever =\

TSN imo is the best channel for the trade deadline cuz Bobby Mac is the best of the bad bunch

Nillson and O' Marra arn't that bad. they both have top 6 forward potential, but if i was an Edm fan, i'd be pissed lol. Losing Pronger and now Smyth?!? good jesus.

HAHAHAHAHA now the Flames caught the Canucks for the division title. Like I said Canucks are going down and Flames will win the division ahahahahha. Or else I will eat my own pubic hair live on soompi web cam. Also I will ask the mods to delete my account and ban me permanently if the Flames don't win the division. As a bonus, if the Canuckleheads win the division I will pay $100 to soompi.com donation for the website. mark my words. I guarantee this.

^I thought the nazzy, smolinkski line looked horrible. Reminded me of the WCE 06 days where they couldn't sustain pressure in the offensive zone =\. Oh well hopefully they can learn to gel together after a few more games.

It was heartbreaking seeing Ryan Smyth cry. I don't like the Oilers but I'm a big fan of Ryan Smyth.
