Overall, the Canucks had a great season. I think they can hold their heads up high after going to the second round. They are set-up well for next season too. Luongo is the franchise player. Bourdon and Edler are NHL ready. Get rid of Sopel and the backend looks solid.
Beiksa - Mitchell
Ohlund - Salo
Bourdon - Edler
x: Krajicek, Fitzpatrick
Luongo
x: Sabourin
I think there needs to be a facelift on the forwards though. The Canucks need to generate more scoring. If Naslund can be traded, then do so. Same can be said of Morrison. Together, those two make $9million and they don't produce enough offensively. Replace the second line with new players. Bring back Linden for cheap.
Sedin - Sedin - Pyatt
($3mil free agent) - ($3mil free agent) - ($3mil free agent)
Cowan - Kesler - Cooke
Burrows - Linden - Reid/Smith/whoever
I smell a trade with Detroit, Buffalo or Ottawa if you're looking for offensive guns.

Just feel lucky for getting this far.
:\
i think you misunderstood what i meant.
i'm not sure if it was the orange hats that the fans were wearing, or the shirts or something,
but they looked exactly like the seats at the rink.
i kept on thinking "wow, that place is empty! no wonder i could hear the canucks fans"
only to realize, by squinting, that there are little heads attatched to those "empty seats"
i'm sorry, but i deffinetly do not think our team made it this far by "luck".
only luck we have is that we're lucky to have luongo.

You got to agree that this year was a new start for the Canucks, a rebuilding year. 13 new players on the team. This off-season will be a year where we start building onto the current roster and support Luongo with some more offense. Especially with the 4 million increase in salary cap.
Also, what does empty seats and offence have to do with anything? trying to change the topic? can't admit that anahiem is not a very strong hockey market?

It's not that strong of a hockey market anywhere in the states... except like Detroit.

Anyways.. Rangers had a good run.. Noone expected them to get as far as they did, plus they went up to par with the Sabres.. There's always next year T_T
LETS GO RANGERS!!!

Buffalo
Detroit
Minnesota
Philly
Pittsburg
Colorodo
New York Rangers
San Jose (lil borderline here but they do have a passionate fanbase)
Dallas
btw, Los Angelas is the dominant team in LA, not the Ducks. Not like that means much anyways cuz its not really a stable fanbase.

Uhh, I watch plenty of hockey. I keep my eyes on games constantly for my hockey pools, fantasy teams and bets. If I don't watch the games, I watch the highlights and clips on TSN, SportsNet and The Score EVERY NIGHT.
Compare Flyers/Rangers' fanbases to any Canadian team's. You turn on weekend hockey featuring a Canadian team at home, the arena's packed. Most American teams = noticeable vacant seats. THEREFORE, not a strong fanbase OVERALL.
Hockey comes like 3rd-4th in fanbases behind football, basketball and occasionally baseball in the States.
Kings were an established team during the years they had Gretzky, Rangers were one of the Original Six, so they're really established. Not to mention when they had Gretzky, it got even better.

True that hockey's definetly greater in Canada, but I can definetly tell you Ranger fans are up to par with you guys.. I mean, I've been to tons of Ranger games at the garden and I gotta tell ya, they're ALWAYS packed.. There's no other arena like MSG.. If you're ever in the area during the season.. Stop by for a game and you'll know exactly what I mean!

That's not a bad idea, having Scott Gomez in Vancouver.
Signing on an established sniper should also be important. Pyatt should be a 20-25 goal scorer next season and COULD be a 30+ if he pulls a Jonathan Cheechoo, but grabbing another scorer wouldn't be that bad of an idea.
Dear Canucks, get Paul Kariya!

No doubt Gomez is probably goin' to a new team next year.. But you can't be sure yet
I think Shanahan was supposed to go to Calgary or Vancouver but fortunetly for a passport mistake or somethin at the airport.. He came to check out New York instead and signed here!
So you never konw^^
