Finals over. Time to look back at my pick:

Finals:
Ducks over Senators in 6: Right

Pretty good prediction except that the Sens sucked more than I thought they would.

If anyone's interested here are my original picks from April which turned out to be pretty accurate.

Conference Semifinals:
Sharks over Red Wings in 6
Ducks over Canucks in 5
Sabres over Rangers in 5
Senators over Devils in 6

Conference Finals:
Ducks over Sharks in 7
Senators over Sabres in 7

Finals:
Ducks over Senators in 6

Yeah, that's the worse thing you can do in a Stanley Cup Final GAME clincher sleep.gif

I gotta admit thuogh, Alfredson's goals were pretty nice.. Neidermeyer's first one was hot too..

Can't wait to see alotta the transactions coming through now though happy.gif

Canada didnt win the cup....again, which was kind of a dissapointment,
since for the past 2 years, it was "so close, yet so far", this year also.

although, i don't think i would've cheered much if the flames did win it a while back lol

but it was nice to see selanne get all teary eyed with the cup over his head.

Most boring Stanley Cup playoffs I've ever watched.

Glad guys like Selanne finally won it.

Do you mean the entire playoffs or just the finals? and why?

The Dallas Vs Canucks Series was awesome. People say lack of scoring was boring but the intensity was there.

The entire playoffs. I mean the Finals alone were dead boring. The Canucks and Stars series extending to 7 games made the playoffs a bit better. There was no surprise underdog team making it deep either like the Oilers did last year.

The Sens played well in the beginning 9they even beat Buffalo!!!!) and when they got to the finals.. -.-;;;;; Emery got worse after Game 2 against the ducks.

Oh well.... they know they did a lot fo things wrong an dhopefully they will fix it by the next season~
Cant wait for a brand new season.
Looking forward to a new Ottawa Senators team.

Go Sens!<333

I think the reason to the Sens success was how they didnt face any teams with any real physical threat till they matched up with the ducks. Thats why in the first 3 rounds alfie was a beast cuz there wasnt many who could intimidate alfie constantly in Buffalo, New Jersey and Pittsburg.

So what? He just means that the Sabres, Penguins and Devils didn't have a load of guys who could physically hammer the crap out of Sens like the Ducks did.

I'm from Ottawa.

it's disappointing here.. it was all red b4.. and flags everywhere.. and, wbhen the players go shopping.. esp. Alfie, everyone actually crowds them

but, i guess we are still happy for them.. i mean, we havn't even gotten into the Finals for 80 years... so.. this is still big.

So does Selanne retire or no?

I say he stays one more year and attempt a John Elway.

Selanne in an interview said he is having the time of his life and will certainly want to play another 2-3 years since he is only 36. Neidermyer said he will retire back then to when he has won a cup with his brother but he said he will keep on playing since its also one of his best times of his life.
