Kinda sad to see Nylander leave the Rangers, he's had his top two seasons here in NY playing with Jagr and Straka, but I'm sure he'll be a great veteran to play with Ovechkin and Semin next season...

I'm interested in seeing where Souray goes. Not many top calibre clubs have the money to grab the guy.. I sure as hell would've loved to see him in a Leafs uniform just to bolster the D line (which does have flashes of brilliance.)

The Blake signing was nice though.

I like Jed too even though he never played for the Canucks. He just seems to be that type of role player that knows his job and plays it 110% all the time. These are the type of players that will ignite comes playoff time. I always get him on my EHM team.

The Blake signing seems good for Toronto as they needed another scorer with Sundin. But one thing that doesn't phase me is. Blake had one of the hugest jumps in performance comes contract time. He went from a 53 point 2005/2006 to a 90+ in 2006/2007. Will he return to his 90+ or will he become a 50+ again? Well he is also getting older but he is still playing like in his primes still so its good. But signing him to a 5 year is pretty weird considering he will be 37 by his next contract. If he keeps playing at this current level then it will be a steal. But when has a player going older and older played better hockey? other then Martin Brodeur.

Blake... had 57 points in 05/06 and 69 points in 06/07... no idea where you're getting your numbers from.

Blake will just be a solid 50-60 point contributor. Although a 5 year signing is rather too long for a 33 year old.

Opps, was looking at Briere for a second there LOL. I meant Brieres jump from 50+ to 90+. But Blakes goal scoring is weird. 28 to 40. For a player that is declining.

Suffering Leaf's fan over here! The signing of Blake is awesome since he provides goals, grit and speed. The Rangers overpaid for Gomez and Drury and I must admit that I hope the signing don't work out =). Gomez is a great player and everything, but his best year he got what? 80 points? You don't pay someone an average of 7 million for those kind of #'s. The signing of Drury will play more of a role since he has more intangibles. The Rangers have enough players to sign everyone as well, but I think they will unload someone. Perhaps Prucha since he went out of favours and was playing on the 4th line at the end of the year..

late bloomer i guess. there's always a few random NHLers here and there that end up putting up career highs when they're 30+.

Got the leafs fans hopes up on the Zubrus deal. Yesterday, many sites reported that Zubrus signed with the leafs for a 4 year 5 million dollar deal. Turns out it was actually for the Devils who signed him to a 6 year.

Prucha never played fourth line?

By the end of the year it was like this..

Hossa, Nylander, Jagr - 1st line
Shanahan, Avery, Callahan - 2nd line
Straka, Cullen, Prucha -3rd line
Ortmeyer, Betts, and Orr/Hollwegg or whatever other prospects they threw out there - 4th line

They were already talking on MSG yesterday about what the lines are gonna look like next season..

Straka, Gomez, Jagr - 1st
Shanahan, Drury, Avery - 2nd
Prucha, Cullen, Callahan -3rd
Hossa, Hollweg, or Orr/other prospects that might come up.. - 4th

And besides the fact that both Drury and Gomez wanted to actually play in NY for personal reasons, the Rangers have alotta free money to spend off not signing Ortmeyer, Nylander, Rachunek, Ozolinsh <-- big disappointment, and Weekes, plus the fact that the salary cap went up and Washingtons still paying off some of Jagrs contract... The Rangers weren't really forking up big bucks to anyone else^^

The Leaf's don't need Zubrus. His max output is around 20 goals and 50 points and they have enough players already that can produce at that clip.

Prucha was a star in his first year and tailed off big-time in his second year and played a severely lesser role. That was my point. Those lines look SCARY, I don't know if they'll be able to mesh though. Sort of like the Knicks, a lot of talent doesn't always lead to a winning team. We shall see..

Ehh, we'll see what happens.. Prucha got overshadowed by Shanahan, Avery, and Callahan for a bit, but I think he's gaining good experience and will come back with a bite^^

RAWRR!!!!! Rangers trade Cullen back to Carolina T_T

Kinda disappointed about that, but I guess it free's up cap room a bit and gives us a mediocre defensemen <.<

which college do you go to??

can't say I'm a fan.. I just like watching them speed down the rink back and forth. they're fun to watch, but the game announcer is, well, entertaining, but borders on annoying every time he goes "SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORES."
Feel free to msg me if you want contact info :D

Yup, the Buffalo announcer is one of the best or the worst depending on your opinion. When he stretches out a word like he is having a cardiac arrest, it can get irritating.
