I can't even possibly believe that we signed him. I can't BELIEVE it! If the Rangers didn't clear their cap space, they clearly did not try hard enough. I don't even like Sundin. We should trade him for Gaborik at the end of the season.

But I do believe that he is of a higher caliber than Mark Messier and hopefully will not pull a Mark Messier move.

Blasphemy.

Not gonna happen.

A 26 year old Gaborik's not gonna be a rental player for Sundin. You trade expiring contracts, scrubs, prospects, a bag of pucks, and draft picks for rental players, not a 37 year old guy who can still score. If anything, Sundin would be the rental player with his talent with age.

With Sundin you can actually give the Sharks and Red Wings a run at their money, and make a run at the Cup with a leader on the ice who's...not your goaltender.

Guarantee every bar in Vancouver is full of fans celebrating Sundin joining the team. I know I was one of the guys in a Toronto bar happy that his decision has finally been made.

NEWSFLASH: I HAVEN'T BEEN A MODERATOR FOR LIKE 2-3 YEARS, SO STOP MESSAGING ME ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS.

Why? Gaborik gets injured often. Both Gaborik and Sundin are UFA's by the end of the season so what would be the point of trading Sundin for Gaborik when you can sign them?

Even though Sundin signed here for 10m, his cap hit is only around 5.5mil. We can still get another decent forward.

^yep since he didn't play for the canucks for almost the first half of the season, he only get 5 - 6 mil..which means they still have room for one more player...

Im actually happy with him signing with vancouver. sundin will make a huge presence for vancouver, he has proven
he can still score and provide great leadership and presence which our team still needs , and importantly this gives off pressure to the sedins, allowing them to be the best at any times.
we are now Stanley cup contenders.

and gabby is very injured prone , i would not take him sweatingbullets.gif

Sometimes I wonder if Gaborik really is injured, or if he's pulling some BS just holding out until he gets traded away.

Sharks lost go Red wings 0-6. So frustrating!

Chicago vs. Vancouver 3-1 Final

Vancouver faced one of the most threatening teams in the NHL at the moment tonight. I, personally, have been waiting to see Patrick Kane play.
Daniel scored the first goal within 5 minutes of the 1st!! First a pass from Henrik that glided against Hansen's skate straight for Daniel to put into the net. And did anyone see Bernier check that guy?! I was thankful we had plexi-glass after that. Instead of glass shattering and the shards flying everywhere, it just comes out of its slot as a whole. The refs' faces were saying, "what do we do with this?" and even the guy Bernier checked was like, "what happened to the glass?" Very funny. This game got very physical, very early, and very quickly. Vancouver providing most of it in the first.
During the second, Patrick Kane! As much as I don't like it, Patick made the goal!! For such a young player, he has made 16 goals this season just one ahead Iginla. Woah! Love that man/boy. Just under 4 minutes of the second Patrick gets the goal. A lucky bouncing pass to him and through Sanford's pads. Sharp makes the next goal just over 6 minutes in. A shot at the top right shelf and he gets it through. This period is nearly all Chicago!
Vancouver had a few really good chances to score but their defence was quicker than our offence. And did you see Ohlund just weave through those players on the powerplay? I'm shocked no one really checked him. But Huet made the save. He made many saves during that PP. And Raymond has had some pretty powerful shots. I think Burrs had a few words with Kane this period because I saw Patrick throw a few glances at Alex a couple of times.
Empty netter in the third just put salt on my wound. It hurt. We had such great effort and great chances but we just couldn't finish. Killed me!

attempts what is above its strength, pleads no excuse for impossibility,

Wow, I haven't posted here in a while, and it's been kind of quiet, haha.
Winter break = love <3.
ANYHOW, I really can't wait until we get to see what Sundin is going to be able to do for us, despite the fact that I don't really like him, I hope that he does us some good.
Although this doesn't have much to do with the NHL, Canada is up 1-0 on the Czech with a goal by John Tavares! biggrin.gif

AND BOXING DAY BABY! I bought a jersey half price ($50) with no name/number, ladies fit. biggrin.gif

:]

'NUCKS VS. OIL @7! Hopefully we bounce back from the humiliating (yet somehow expected) 5-0 loss to the Sharks. And funny story, I was playing NHL 2K9 and it was Canucks VS. Sharks and I quit after the 2nd period because we were losing 5-0 (hence Schneids leaving halfway). I might have jinxed our team, I haven't played the game since, =/

Canucks 2 - 3 Edmonton Final

This really sucks man, I wore my new Canucks jersey over top of my Canucks t-shirt and held up two Canucks' flags during the game. =/ I screamed so FREAKIN' loud when Raymond scored but then he still keeps doing that young gun kind of thing, where they try to do it themselves all the time. And last 20 seconds, I was screaming 'SHOOT IT FOR FREAKING GOODNESS SAKES! STOP PASSING!'

If we lose to the Sens, then I don't know man, I don't know.

Is that the RBK jersey? Man those are super expensive. I bought one, but it's super huge on me, so I just hang it up on my window for everyone to see.

^Why yes it is, it wasn't too bad I think because it was ladies' fit so I think it's cheaper than mens' fit.

I'm watching Canada VS. Davos right now, and we're headed into the shootout but I want to say how amazing of a game it's been, us coming back from a 3-0 deficit, then a 4-3 deficit, then coming back even after Switz scores with a minute and a half left with a Domenichelli goal. And we even killed the OT penalty, I'm super excited for the shootout right now. And Invisibister is on the roster too! =O

__EDIT

We lost in the shootout, the only goal coming in the last penalty shot taken by Davos, =[
What a game.

Vancouver 3 - 0 Ottawa Final

MAN! First two periods were full of glory and powerplays (which epicly failed) and then third period was just full of failed trapping. If Kesler had scored, man, freaking bullet (ironic since his nickname IS bull) and Hordini's scrap was pretty good though I'd call it a tie. He looked SO happy after they separated him. And 'Wired' with O' Brien... to Ruutu 'you're such a loser!' LOL! I couldn't help but laugh, god O Brien's so cool. AND MY HUSBAND EDLER SCOOOOOOOOOOOORED! :] No deflects, no tips, just a hard slapper and into the back of the net, cool.gif

Wow, Sandman out with a groin injury. I wonder who will back up Schneider.

Also, I wonder what line Sundin will play on!

Labarbera will. Its like the Canucks Management foreshadowed this. The Canucks were deciding to send Schneider back down to the AHL because with him on the bench 80% of the time will hinder his development so now when Sanford out, who knows.

Little disappointed with our loss against Phil hope for a win against Nashville
Bieska is a king against men though

Nice Jersey

I will be at the Jan 15th game against Phoenix so I'll get to see the great one! (hopefully)
I'm sitting right behind one of the goalies since we bought the tickets off of a partner. Hopefully it will be a sweet game.

pandi.x, mine was plain, :] the place i went, they only offered lou and some other random people, =/ but they were rocking the old skate jerseys w/ bure & linden on 'em.

oh my goodness, just like two days ago I was dogging on henrik for his little slump (since it goes unnoticed because daniel's got the hot hand right now) and suddenly he scores 2 goals and assists one, i should call it more often. and demitra's shot in the shootout, lehtonen got faked SO bad. i'm still disappointed though, =/ 4-3 to atlanta, i remember when we had a chance to get such a good record.
