Even though I'm a flames fan, but I wouldn't put Phanuef on Canada's Olympic team either. He'll get his chance next time around, there are more experienced D-man that i would take.

D-Man:

Blake-Pronger-Regher-Neidermyer-Redden-Foote-Jovanovski

Goalie:
Broduer
Turco
Luongo

Forwards:

Gagne-Sakic-Iginla----->great chemsitry from 2002 Olympics.
Staal-Thronton-Heatley---->Youth line first time olympic rep.
Richards-Lecavalier-St.Louis---->Stanley Cup line.
Shanahan-Lemieux-Crosby---->Old&New generation, there's no chance keeping lemieux off this team!
extra:Rick Nash

Other considerations:
Ryan Smyth--->great energy and defensive guy, a gretzky favorite.
Kris Draper--->for defensive game.
Bertuzzi--->will he ever be the same again?
Spezza--->lacks some defensive skills.
Shane Doan--->just b/c he's gretzky's guy!
Tanguay--->rare and natural Left-Winger.
Morrison--->hard for him b/c canada is loaded at the Center position.

Long Shots:
Eric Lindros, Paul Kariya, Mike Peca, S.Yzerman--->Injury Problems
