Since i have freckles and such i try to proctect myself from the sun, by using an umbrella. Anyways one day when i was with my mum and we were holding an umbrella.. a rude person said "wtf you carrying a umbrella when its not raining?!!". Even though i don't see anything wrong with protecting your skin from the sun harmful rays. Well, do any of you guys hold an umbrella to protect yourself against the sun? and do you find it annoying or weird if someone holds an umbrella ?

The person who stated that comment was obviously rude. Don't pay him/her any attention. I don't see anything wrong with using an umbrella when it's sunny outside. When I know I'm going to be outside, I carry a small umbrella with me. I'm currently on Tazorac (retinoid) and antibiotics that make me sensitive to the sun.. So, I'm pretty pale. tongue.gif Using an umbrella is a must for me.

I see lots of old ladies in chinatown doing it. Eh . But I haven't really seen young adults doing it. I dunno.

I'm sure everyone knows Michael Jackson utilized an umbrella when there was a lot of sun exposure smile.gif So yeah. It's not weird. Just do what you think is right for you, not how others think about it. smile.gif

There's already another thread on this..

But anyways I don't. Even though I have lupus, I just wear a whole bunch of sunscreen.
I'm pale enough already (BECAUSE of lupus >_>)
I think I'd look half dead if I was any paler =.=

I don't carry an umbrella. but I would carry a Parasol since they are made for blocking the sun, and they look nicer.

I never carrried an umbrella when I was in Canada...
But now that I'm here in HK, everyone does it and it really does help with protecting your skin against the sun!

I just got back from China, and everyone there uses an umbrella.

UV rays are present outside, even when you aren't under direct sunlight, but an umbrella help against direct damage.

I would now. Despite there being lot of Asians back in hawaii where I used to live, I avoided using an umbrella because I felt like a fobby old lady doing it. lol.

I don't do it when I'm at home in Canada,
but I'll do it when I'm in Hong Kong or South Korea for a visit.
When in Rome...!
