j/k (kind of anyways)...
Thing is though, even a peasant in a first world country has access to more luxuries that a king in a 3rd world country.
Glory is forever

sure it feels great to be in a new country, but the novelty wears off very fast. imagine one of those vacations where after a few days you just want to go home. the worst factor is the people. natives will always look at you as a foreigner and in 3rd world countries most will try to avoid you or view you as a way for them to make money. a sense of isolation comes up and it's pretty bad.
i had good and bad experiences as an expatriate and i when i went back to the US i ended up studying the negative effects, which is known as "culture shock." very interesting cultural phenomenon that every person should take a look at if they're going to travel for an extensive period of time.

If you sold your car, you could probably afford to have a bunch of people carry you around on a palanquin.
With palm leaf fans.
Pure awesomeness.

A 2 yuan breakfast in China is always fun too.

Having a driver, maids, cooks, etc. But I don't know, having people do my errands for me and being spoiled gets boring quickly.
I'd rather change careers and pursue modeling again.

The government will sell it to you for a very cheap price.
In return, you will have to develop the place and turn it into a beautiful resort.

My cousin only had $1000 dollars when she went back here and she had the time of her life.

very true! i was in Vietnam last month & i was amazed how incredibly cheap everything was there! for example, i was able to buy a regular sized can of coke for 20 cents! or, you can but a nice dinner for you & some friends for about $8.
what's kind of cool about there is that almost every place accepts american money [:

Becareful of Chagas in Costa Rica! :x haha. True story though, you'll die in 20 years of a heart attack if one bites you and you scratch it.
I lived like a Queen in Taiwan for 1.5 months. It was like spending monopoly money.

but i think the lifestyle is totally different in some places,
sometimes people spend because it's hard to let go of the american lifestyle.
at least for me it was. i think.
