Wow, i'm surprised theres no fishing thread. I'd figure the sports section would be the best place to put it, no?
Anywho, anyone fish here?
any tips on bait, riggs, lures, etc?
I recently got into fishing again this year. i spent some money and bought a huge rod from ugly stick. I've gone quiet often in the past 3 weeks, but only had luck one night. The spot I go to in maryland near the bay bridge is known to catch blue, croakers and maybe some strippers or bass. I caught about 5 blues one night, 2 or 3 keepers but didn't put up a good fight. That was the only night, the other nights we only caught spot which we used for bait. Seriously one night we must've caught a dozen spot and only one blue.
might go again soon and hopefully catch the big one i'm waiting for.

I go fishing, crabbing, and shrimping.
I prefer casting nets in creek mouths on the outgoing tide to catch every thing from croakers, pompano, shrimp, flounder, hell i even caught a shark in my net...
But as for angling i got a simple wal mart rod and real with 15 pound test using a simple egg sinker and leader rig for bottom bumping and have another rod hooked up with a cajun thunder and about 10 inches of line for bridge fishing for trout.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter who has given us freedom of press. It is the Soldier, not the poet who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer who gives us freedom to demonstrate. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and who's coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Oh, definitely love fishing! I try to go every few months, and I usually go up to MD to go fishing. Last time I went to OC, all my family and I got were a bunch of baby sharks, and I caught only one blue fish. Caught a bunch of random things though... like some sort of green eel, a king crab...
went to point lookout this past summer and caught nothing but spot LOL
I don't fish uh,, professionally, though. Just doing it for fun

I loooove fishing! Not as much as my dad though. He goes almost every spare chance he gets and goes almost EVERY weekend. I go with my dad sometimes to watch him fish since I don't have a fishing license. I usually have to go to piers with my friends to go fishing but it's still fun.

This is one of the spots my dad goes fishing. His fishing pole is A LOT longer than others so it's really thin and flexible at the end. Last time we went fishing I was standing behind him and he hooked my neck while he was casting. One of THE most traumatizing moments of my life. T~T

And~ another picture of the area just to give you a feel of what it's like fishing there.
