Do You Eat More Than Usual When You're Depressed Or Sad? What do you usually eat?

I feel myself craving food and eating alot more than i usually do when i feel down or depressed.
I'll just start eating chips and looking food to eat...i guess it makes me feel less empty sometimes



Anyone eat more when they are depressed? and what do you usually crave and eat??

Uh yeah.
I am like the biggest emotional eater I know =X

The trick is to find some distraction, you don't want to become overly dependent on food and have your brain automatically think of food whenever you're depressed/angry

hm... in my case, it's usually when i'm frustrated with my weight. which is depressing.

and i usually eat whatever's in front of me.. last time it was ramen, lots of rice and kimchi, ice cream, burger for two days straight, chocolate, yeah all i can remember.. but anyway it was terrible.

eating my feelings out is like procrastination; it feels good at first but in the end i'm only screwing myself D:

Yup. When I'm depressed, I watch funny shows and snack...a lot. Usually it's stuff that I can munch on for a while, like popcorn, cookies or chips.

No...I'm total opposite. When I was in depression, I hardly ate. I lost like 15lbs...It's a good thing I recovered. I looked like a stick.

actually, I eat normal either when i'm depress, sad or happy.

I eat a lot because I work out so either way my mood doesn't change on how I eat.

I do. When I'm depressed,I always NEED food!!! maybe eating can make you forget any problems for a while-another kind of distraction! eh? .
I usually find some chips or snakes or something sweet such as desserts or fruit juices to fulfill my appetite. LOL
i find Food really help even if I will be a fat girl soon. hehe happy.gif

I tend to go more towards the "comfort food"
Whatever is satly/spicy/crunchy/greasy/ basically bad for me.
But i normally jsut eat whatever is in my fridge or around.
Fly me to the moon, & let me play among the stars.

i eat when i'm depressed, when i'm happy, when i'm mood-less. but if depressed, i crave rocky road ice cream more.

Sometimes I eat more often when I'm feeling depressed.. other times I don't feel like eating much at all.
When I do eat when I'm depressed, I like to eat comfort foods.. rice, potatoes, junk foods and lots of tea.

Surprisingly, no. Although, I eat A LOT as it is.
When I'm sad I'll increase my intake of junk food or chocolate or ice cream but compared to how much I usually eat, it's way less. Usually I pig out when I'm bored or extremely hyper or something.
