Being the daughter of someone who loves tea very, very much, I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to tea and how good it is for you. So feel free to share experiences, stories, facts you've found about tea, etc.


I drink tea... alot lol. My dad has a vast supply of all sorts of teas, but we regularly drink green tea and oolong. We also have this tea called "yun sum wu-long", which if you speak Cantonese you might have heard of it. My parents always bring tea leaves with us whenever we go to eat at a yum cha place, and ask the waiters for teapots of boiling water haha.

The only downside to drinking alot of tea is going to the bathroom alot OTL.
I occasionally drink tea from tea bags, which my dad yells at me for because we have tea leaves at home. I'm just usually too lazy to make real tea lol.

I LOVE ginseng-oolong tea!! ahaha i'm cantonese so I can understand your cantonese pinyin. i don't drink tea too often cause' my parents are more into soups than tea. but when i was in china, i brought back lots of teas, and ginseng-oolong is my favorite among them. its got such a nice sweet aftertaste. i like almost all teas actually. i don't really know names because i'm not a very picky tea drinker. i'm a fan of teas with flowers that open up when you pour hot water. those are so pretty to look at. <3 i wish teahouses were cheaper. their teas and desserts are so expensive!! sometimes i wish i could have private tea parties w/ my friends but i need to buy cute china for that which i don't have. keke XD

girl omg. i love tea too. people think i'm crazy for drinking tea on summer mornings. but honestly, it starts my day off right so i don't care about being too hot. i love green tea, black tea, early grey, korean "bo ri cha (barley drink)", green tea with brown rice extract...pretty much anything though. it's so good for you too!

chinese tea is the best~ I like the types of tea they serve at teahouses/dim sum restaurants.
I regularly drink green tea. c: guk fa is also really good. oolong aftertaste is so pleasant!
there is this one Japanese rice tea that tastes nice, I think it's called genmaicha.
and animagelet, haha, the flowering green tea is so pretty! in fact I love the process of
making tea, it's so delicate. lol. yess, the only things I dislike about tea is the caffeine and
that it stains your teeth. ><

Wow I'm glad u started a thread on Tea!! My favorites are oolong (best during the summer, good for dieting), Pu-erh (best during fall, warming effect), and also blooming teas for aesthetic reasons.

I wish there are tea houses in the US like the ones in China. I mostly get tea in bulk when I go to China for visits. The ones sold in the states (like Teavana) is over-priced
