I hope this is in the right section.... If not, please move!
Well I'm leaving to study aboard soon in (3) weeks and I'm starting to pack. Since I'm going half way across the world I know there are lots of things that I can and cannot bring. So if I wanted to bring my set of sissors, how am I surpose to do that? The reason why I have a set of sissors is because they are used to cut and trim hair etc. Other then that I also read that you are not allowed to bring more then 3oz of liquids onboard or any kind of liquids or something like that. How about contact solution and make up remover? Am I also not allowed to bring water onboard in my carry on? How many bags can I bring as a carry on? Can I bring nail polish? It is a liquid right? ... How about lip gloss, chapstick? Wow, yah. Would they let me wear my retainers onboard? Cause last time my friend said they made her remove them.... How about candy?
Also what can I put and cannot put in my luggage? T__T'' Help please?!
Oh yah I checked google, I didn't get what that travel guild was trying to point out. Is it just me or I really dont understand it?!

u can only bring one bag as ur carry on (maybe 2, it depends on ur airline)
and they should allow u to bring ur contact solution but u should have a small bottle of it... water bottle? the last time i went on a plane they wouldn't let have any kind of food in my carry on unless u bought in on the plane (some airlines sell things onboard)
im pretty sure ur allowed to take the sissors because i know someone that took knives (their a chief) but don't put them in ur carry on, ....i guess ur allowed to bring nail polish as long as it under 3oz just asked my mom and she said no....also i think ur allowed to take ur retainers but don't wear them at the airport checking, they will ask u to take them off, but they should let u wear them onboard
hope that helps, and good luck aboard

Been awhile since I last traveled, but generally you should be allowed to carry one or two pieces of luggage that qualify as carry-ons. For example I had my backpack and my laptop case and no complaints there, but you should check the airlines on the restrictions and limitations.
I wasn't allowed to bring ANY liquid substances on-board, but they let me put it in the large bag that goes in the cargo bay.
You should post up the information you're reading if you're unclear. Or ask someone for clarification (after we've read your info).

All of your liquid products have to be in small bottles placed in a clear, plastic bag if it's in your carry on.
I suggest you only put things such as clothes, lap top, non-liquid cosmetics in your carry on.
In your big luggage that gets sent directly to your destination, you can pretty put anything - put your scissors and liquids in that one.
The only things you need to be careful with are food and weapons (BB guns could look suspicious).
And the number of carry ons depends on the airline you're traveling with - most allow 2 carry ons per person (but make sure they're within the size limit and under 50lbs.)
I recommend you put your nail polish and all liquid cosmetics in your large luggage to avoid trouble with the customs.
Good luck abroad!

You're right that you can only bring liquids on board that are 3oz. or less and they are strict about that. For carry-on items, you can still bring makeup remover and contact solution as well as eye drops and general makeup items such as lipgloss, mascara, foundation, and even perfume (I brought a travel size body spray onboard). Make sure all your liquid items are placed in one clear ziplock bag to make it easier for security to inspect it. Nailpolish would best be packed in your luggage, since it has some potentially harmful toxins and you're really not going to need to paint your nails on an airplane. You can bring a full size liter of water onboard only after you've had you luggage and carry-on checked by security and you are allowed in the boarding area for your flight. After I passed the security checks and walked to my boarding area I went to the nearest snack shop and bought water then brought it onboard with me which is fine. You will not be allowed to bring any sharp objects such as scissors, razors, etc. on your carry-on bag but packing them in your luggage should be fine (I did). I think you are allowed to bring one carry-on bag (not exceeding 40 lbs) and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or backpack. I only brought my backpack where I put my makeup bag, books, Ipod and snacks (candy is fine) and brought my purse on board and I passed through security quickly because I didn't have much for them to inspect. For luggage you can have as many as you want or need but the more luggage you have the more it will cost you. Also, luggages have a weight limit of 50lbs so try to remain in that limit. Rules vary all the time and domestic flights and international flights have some different requirements. When I went to Taiwan three months ago these were the ones I had to follow but yours may be different given your destination. It will probably be best for you to check your airline for the most current and accurate information. Have a great trip!
