I'm new into my job and trying to make good iimpression. But as hard as I try to be ... It seems to backfiresbon me..report that I make seems to have mistakes, even the littlest as possible..manager caught me msning today. Although be said it was okay... I feel embarrassed about it. Is this a common thing? What should I do to re-create good impression?

Don't make any waves until you know how things are done in your industry/company.
Or, if all else fails, you could get some diamond-studded cufflinks and these.

LOL i usually MSN from the first day. And then by the end of the first week, i'm in full blown internet mode with Soompi and everything.
Chances are, by passing the interview process and getting hired, it means they see something special in you. So, you just have to keep showing that part of yourself and keep selling them what they want. Whether it was your book smarts, cleverness, education, way you handled tough questions, work experience, etc, you beat out the competition. Going on the net is just stuff people do and it's understood. At the end of the day, impress them with quality of work and then all will be forgiven.

This was the best impression that I did at work and it was so good I had 4 people thinking I was their new boss and that they were fired.

what kind of work is this??
anyway, just common sense really.. take initiative to do things. don't be the last one in the office and don't be the first one out. come early and stay a little late.

ROFL.
I'm sure that mistakes are expected considering you're new but just try to concentrate on the work you're doing. When I first started working at my current job, I made so many mistakes I kept looking down on myself. Everytime I would do that it was like I was psyching myself out and i'd make even MORE mistakes.
When you're working, just concentrate on what you're doing. I noticed that a lot of the times I make mistakes is when my mind is wandering while i'm working so I can't even remember what I did and why I did it. Lol.

LOL that pretty much explains me at work.
Co-workers see me online all day but yet i deliver and come through when it matters most.
They have no idea how i do it but i just do it.
Sometimes, even i surprise myself... if it's not too much to say so myself...

in my current team, the truth is, more than 50% of our time, if you pass us by our desks, you'd just see us messing around. and, with that setup, we were the team of the year last 2008. because despite us fooling around, we do our jobs very well.
so, don't be afraid whenever your boss catches you red handed. just do your job as instructed.

which mean you will have to take initiative by yourself, and not wait for people
to lead you too much. You have to be able to stay professional, and if you want,
you can stay playful, too. The important thing is to not be a hypocrite.
Don't do minimum stuff, and play behind your boss's back.
I think it is one of the most self-destructive and counter-productive behavior.
For the company, and for you own growth.
By having more integrity, a good intention, and more desire to help and to produce results,
you will naturally make a good impression, since it will be how you really are,
not what you want to show.

Honestly, if you don't understand something I think the best thing you can do is to ask someone. Atleast it shows that you're genuinely trying to find out what's going on.

well, for me, look at it in the way of what you want to get out of the job. Is it to learn the industry? A go-between whilst you're looking for your perfect job? To advance in your career path?
I think you need to enthuse in what you do. A few small mistkes in reports etc aren't a big deal really, but being caught on MSN even though it is "allowed" doesn't really throw off a good impression. From experience, every company i've worked for is completely differen, even if they are in the same industry, so I think taking the time to learn how the company you are working for works is very advantageous. you just need to adjust to how things are done in the company, and do it well. but enjoy it! nothing beats having a job you enjoy!
