So I got braces about 2 weeks ago and this afternoon when I woke up, I noticed that one bracket is now loose. The bracket that is loose is for the tooth that is pretty much the odd one out, which means that the rest of the teeth are pretty straight except this one is crooked. The good thing is that when I got my braces put on, I scheduled an advance appointment, which is this Saturday (8/8/09). I called the office and asked if I should come in early this week before Saturday, or wait until Saturday. They said I should just come in this Saturday at the appointment time. My question is will my alignment be messed up because of that 1 loose bracket during the 4 days before my appointment? Like the crooked teeth started to look straight after I got my braces put on and its been straighten out since, but will it start to go crooked again?

It should be fine. Same thing happened on me and my teeth are still straight.

do you mean the band is off the bracket and it is no longer attached to the wire? honestly two weeks into braces with one loose bracket isn't going to affect anything.

No, the wire is still attached to the bracket, but the bracket is no longer on the tooth itself. I guess the ortho didn't put enough paste on the bracket to keep it tight on the tooth?

Actually I think it depends on the person...or your gums....?
When my bracket fell loose, my teeth formed a gap within a couple of days.

I think so too because my 3 front bottom teeth has a small gap between each when they used to be tight next to each other before I got braces.

it should be fine if you book an appointment asap with your ortho to fix it. I had this a few times, just make sure you get it fixed or it might indeed make your teeth weird :S
