Ladies,

Just curious, what is the monetary limit on how much you would lend out to your boyfriend?

As much as I could spare because I've been with my boyfriend for more than 4 years and 100% trust him.
BUT, it would also depend on what he wants the money for.. stupid stuff=no lending. tongue.gif

I would lend him whatever he needs. But really it depends on how much you trust your bf, how well you know him, etc.

I've only been dating my bf for 1.5 yrs, but I'm extremely close to his family and am very trusting of him. I also know his personality which is not the kind to steal or "forget" to return money. In the past I have lent him $100 out of my bank when we went out (with friends together - his acct didn't get money transferred in yet) and he paid me back right after our trip was over and his money came in.

But I also know he's the kind of person who wouldn't ask to borrow money (esp a lot) from me. He has too much "man pride." Haha laugh.gif

depends on how much you trust them and if they're responsible. i wouldnt lend a huge some of money that i got off my parents though. maybe, if it was the money i earned while working.

What's his is mine, what's mine is his, so as much as he needed, unless he's a drug/gambling addict. Then he would have to learn the hard way.

Oh and as someone else mentioned, he certainly would not have to pay it back. So I guess I'd actually be giving than "lending".

I feel that lending a partner money is far too complicated - I mean where do you draw the line? Do you have to make sure that your partner pays you back or takes you out in exchange for every single time you pay for a night out, dinner etc.? Do they owe you money when they eat the food out of your fridge or use your bathroom because it adds to your running costs?

I believe like anything else you give to someone, it is a gift and they don't owe you anything, but that's just me! smile.gif

Lol i mean how long have we been dating?
I'm not dating now but i'll use my last "boyfriend". We were only together about 5 months in that time I'd probably lend him like $30 at the most.

Key Factors:
What's the money for?
Does the boyfriend have a job?
Has he mooched before?
How long you've been dating?

The most that I've lend to my boyfriend was roughly $850 which was used to pay half of his dentist bill. He had to get all four of his wisdom teeth taken out. You had to pay upfront at the dentist place and then when insurance kicks in they'll send you a check for whatever amount the insurance paid.

But like the others, I trust him completely and I know that he'll pay me back so I don't mind lending him money unless it's for unnecessary stuff like games then I won't give him anything. Oh, and I've been with him for 2.5 years, so yeah.

I don't lend. If he needs then I'll give it to him and vice versa.

There really is no limit on how much I would give.
But, I don't even have that much to begin with.

There's no limit, but my boyfriend wouldn't take my money to begin with.

I lent 1k to a long term GF to help pay off some credit card debt. She was someone I trusted immensely when I we were together.

I've gotten back 40 dollars, to date. Lesson learned.

I've been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years now and he's lent me money to pay for bills and tuition even one time so if he ever asks to borrow, I don't hesitate to give it to him. He's very frugal and is really smart with his money so he rarely asks me. I'm always the mooching bum *sigh*
