Haha I must be used to the SSF forums... I was looking for a Taeyeon forum icon to pin up when I realized, this is Soompi XD

Anyways, I worked on improving my mixing for this song. Still doesn't come close to some of the others.

The borrowed lyrics were written by an awesome girl who also covered this song, but she's from China...her page is in Chinese found here: http://fc.5sing.com/1043763.html

I took in the comments from my last rendition of Taeyeon's IF and tried my best this time to shove more "emotion" into my singing.

Anyways, comments, critiques and advice welcomed on both singing and mixing .

Ooo you are Chinese? I had no idea haha.
I think that the mixing sounds goood! I liked the crystal clearness of your vocals and the slight reverb. It all blends well (Though I'm no expert)

I think that one of the weaker things about your singing is that you lack power/energy :S. I know that this is a ballad but I was sorta wishing that you would build up from the verse to the chorus and let it all out then. And you could always use power in a song even if it's a reallly calm and quiet one . Some of the higher notes sounded weak and off too so you could work on them I was gonna say that your head voice seems less good than your chest but then I heard another bit which I THINK you used your head voice and it was quite good so.. 8D;;

Actually, your second chorus was better. A bit more power there. More emotion too. Keep working on that. You could still inject even more and more emotion I personally think that you left the powerful bit a tad bit too late. The first half of the song was kinda too 'flat'. I liked how you suddenly exploded at the bridgey part though

Omg...I remember singing this before with my old mic...you've inspired me to redo it with my new mic ^^.

Your tone is different here than If...it's very light and has a nice sweet inflection ^^. I LIKE IT!!! WE ARE SOO COLLABING!!
I think you got the emotion here better than If...has a much more tender feeling ^^.
I wish you belted it out more...more power...(WHITNEY HOUSTON STYLE!)
And you were kinda flat a bit in the first verse...but it got a lot better later on ^^

loveee the lyrics. they transitioned very smoothly, especially having been re-written in a different language woot.

your voice is soothing and very pleasant to listen to. i love the clarity. *__* however i wish you could have added a bit more power and sustained the last notes of some phrases, like in the second chorus, "彼此拥有". i thought this line, "一步一步陷进回忆的漩涡" during the second pre-chorus was filled with the perfect amount of strength and power. i also really liked how you sang "后退" during the first verse; it was so calming.

Thanks so much for the input guys!! I guess I'm very tunnel vision'd when it comes to judging people sing, because I just think differently~ So I didn't see the same problems other mention with my singing (but I saw many more obvious others (well to me) that no one pointed out lol...)


ICD: Hey! Mmm I'm Cambodian/Chinese, but I speak both languages poorly. I was born in Australia, so English is my native (even though some of my English songs sound a bit fobby :X). Yup I contained myself a bit when singing this song. I wanted it to sound sincere, but normally when I add power to my notes, I start sounding weird You'll probably witness it in the future when I do high range songs. TBH, my headvoice is one of my weakest aspect in singing. I just started to trial/try it out on these two last Taeyeon songs~~ Still learning hehehe~~ The timbre of my falsetto definitely lacks compared to you and your soompi buddies <3 But next time I'll try to pump more power in!! Yup, I have poor pitch on low notes I noticed (I never knew this until my last two recordings~). Infact, when recording, I sometimes struggle and can hear myself being pitchy LOL. haha u only downloaded my version so you could pitch your version to the same pitch! BTW your version was very nice!! It was a much better and improvised version of mine! I'm really touched you sang this song after hearing my version, but lol at the same time I felt like I was shot down and then continually shot at when dead on the floor cos ur version was a better version of mine~~LOL </3

The first time i heard this song was through azn1004girl's cover - that was very awesome.

I was excited to see that sikkony was covering this one - and with chinese lyrics it indeed have a different feel.
Your voice has matured over the years since you started and the new mic is in capable hands now!
