ugh I hate papaya. But here's a recipie I found:

Ingredients
4 tablespoons sunflower oil
2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
4 cups peeled, seeded, and grated green papayas
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

Instructions
Prepare the vinaigrette in a small bowl by combining the oil, vinegar, mayonnaise, garlic, salt, and pepper.

Combine the papaya and vinaigrette in a large salad bowl. Sprinkle with parsley and lime juice.

Yield: 6 servings

I got it from homecooking website.

I love it! My hmong cousin and laos friends always make it and it's so good but so spicy..lol hurts my stomach.

This is kinda off topic but is it true that you shouldn't eat papaya when you're pregnant? I keep hearing that from adults.

lol im laos, so i know how to make it....

crushed fresh chilis with garlic in a pistol/mantel thingy. is that what its called?...if you dont have one ..then use a bowl or something..anyways..you add the shredded papaya, tomatoes, fish sauce, shrimp paste, preserved fish in laos you call it pa dak.lol anyways..lime, sugar, msg..those are the basics but you can basically add anything you want, mix em..and yeah that what you get...season to your likings.... hope that helps.

haha...so you'll need:
shredded papaya
tomatoes (cherry tomatoes are best)
sugar
lime
fish sauce and if you're really awesome you'll get padak too (cured fish sauce) I don't know what else to call it
crab paste (optional)
shrimp paste (optional)
MSG (optional)
mortar and pestal
garlic
peppers (thai chili peppers work best0

so bascially start off my putting the peppers, garlic, shrimp and crab in the mortar and pestal and grind it to a paste consistancy, then add the rest of the ingredients to take and serving amount...

enjoy smile.gif

Gahhh, papaya salad is good<3 I like it when it isn't spicy cuz I'm a wimp LOL. A little spicy is good too. My mom always makes it at parties and it's the best. I wish I could make it though, but she always does it by taste so I never know how much to put in dry.gif Even when she explains it to me in Laos, it's wayyy too confusing.

Thanks for the recipe's guys! I hope I'll be able to make it @_@ lol
