if you have glaucoma, i don't think you can wear contacts. they might irritate your eyes further.
having different vision in each eye isn't anything that would prevent being able to wear contacts in itself. my left eye is two times worse than my right one.

if your optometrist says no, i would listen to him/her. if you don't trust his/her opinion, go to another one and get a second opinion, but i dont think hoping for the answer you're looking for on soompi would be a smart thing to do considering your glaucoma.

End thread right there. I doubt that there is anyone here on Soompi more qualified to answer your question than your own optometrist.
I won't bother since I won't read the rules and they won't accommodate.

this is a board frequented by asians!
not to play on stereotypes, but medicine is a pretty popular major for asians so it's not like the chances are 0%.
plus, someone just might know an article relevant to the op's question.

Her doctor PHYSICALLY EXAMINED her eyes so chances are pretty slim to none, unless OP wants to post pics for us keyboard doctors biggrin.gif

im a soon to be optometrist...and i dont think there would be much problem with wearing contacts. glaucoma affects the posterior aspect of your eye, not the anterior aspect....so unless the drops you're using for glaucoma interact with the lenses negatively and increase lens sensitivity or something, im not sure why it would be a problem.

however, im not your optometrist. so listen to what he said. did they say why?

I'm sure your doctor knows what their doing when they say no. So why risk it? Remember, you only get one set of eyes and you shouldn't risk it if they say no. Plus, to get contacts you need a prescription. How are you going to obtain contacts without a prescription? huh.gif

I don't know much about glaucoma but you should talk to your doctor when you can start wearing contacts. Why not just stick with glasses? They're not that ugly, don't worry. Just take care of your eyes first.

Listen to the professional. If your doctor said no, then don't.
You don't want your eyes to get worse than it already is.

I don't know WHY you're asking people on a forum when your optometrist already said you shouldn't be wearing them. I guess the only advice I can give you is to go to another optometrist and see what they say.

ahh my 7 year old brother has it too. I don't really know about contacts sorry. But, can I ask, do you use eye drops? Like my brother has 2 types of eye drops to lower blood pressure and stuff and they are actually really strong medicines :S
