I'm finally getting my first car! But I can't seem to decide which one I want.. the A4 or the TSX. In your opinion, which car would you get? I'm looking for good gas mileage, AWD, comfort.. not really into speed.
I love how the Audi looks but hate the interior.. also I hate the front exterior of the TSX but like the interior. UGHH!

wat wat? but Audi i known for its interior and LEDs =O. the tsx is a lot cheaper but if you want a little luxury and eye catching dayrunninglights get the a4. specifications say the TSX inline4 is more fuel efficient that an audi a4 on an average.

german engineering is not as reliable as honda, and often german engineering has electrical problems eventually. so i would suggest the Acura TSX.

The TSX and the A4 have similar mileage but mind you, other than the basic A4, all A4's now are all quattro so there is drivetrain lost. But since you are getting your first car, get one that you will not regret and feel absolutely pissed if and that is if you get into an accident. But most people here will tell you to test drive them both since each driver has different opinions on what they feel is a better car.

wait does the 2010 tsx even have AWD? and do you even need it or is there a lot of snow in your area? and if you would allow another suggestion, i would say a Subaru legacy fits your requirements, at least the entry model, not the gt or spec b.

omg my i have the had issue, just its 2006 S4 to a TSX 09, but that crashed down when i now have to return to school. but i picked the TSX, test drive both. I love the S4, amazing car, but the TSX gave such a different feeling driving it and its what im comfy with the S4 is to much torque for my taste =/ i slam the gas alot sooooo im gonna get whislash from the S4 lmao

TSX FTW

The S4 is a racing version of the A4 so it will have a lot more power. Heck it has twice the amount of cylinders with a V8 and well over 300hp compared to the 200hp from the I4 the TSX has. Also ya, the Legacy should be another consideration and no the TSX has no AWD. It is all FWD still. Although the new 2010 model TSX will have the new 3.5L V6.

Acura is quite well known for its lack of RWD models. The TSX is like most other Acura models in that it has FWD. I believe some models like the SUVs and TL does have AWD though.

My opinions is only going to be based on looks. tongue.gif

A4 definitely looks nicer than the TSX. Those LEDs are the sexiest lights. Ever.

But. I think the TSX is more comfy when driving it.

OP doesn't have to worry about any electrical issues or anything because it's a 2010. It'll be under warranty for a while with an option of extending it if the OP doesn't sell it by then. Most people usually sell their cars within a few years. The A4 gets decent gas miles if you don't have a lead foot, it also has awd, and it's a pretty comfy ride. Handles pretty well also, much better than the tsx imo.

The Audi over the Acura any day if money isn't a problem. Otherwise the TSX is o.k. for an entry level "luxury" car.

damn.. i guess i have to test drive both for me to know what i like. i absolutely loooove the beaded lights on the audi. it's so damn sexy. lol. i'm not too sure about the subaru though.. only cause.. idk. i'm biased. =P
i actually didn't know that tsx didn't have awd. AWD is not a major factor but i would like to have it only because i live up on a hill where it kinda snows a lot.. (NY). btw.. what is OP?

If you want a good looking luxurious sports sedan and want some fun factor in your ride, but you're willing to deal with some reliability issues, the A4 is your car. If you want Honda quality and reliability and looking for a comfortable ride, but looks like a prototype gone wrong, go with the TSX.

Personally, I say the 2007/2008 TSX is better than '09/'10 models; the new front design is too much.

If I recall correctly, both of the cars are about 30k, so if you can afford one, the other one shouldn't be a problem, either.

How long are you going to drive the car? German cars' electronics tend break easily. I'm guessing it's because there's no major electronics company in Germany. I mean, Japan has Sony. Of course, Samsung is worldwide numero uno, but Sony is still in the top somewhere.

Engine endurance is pretty similar, but Japanese cars definitely go longer. If you plan to only use the car for under 90-100k miles, go with the A4. If you plan to use the car for more, go with the TSX.

Of course, the A4 will be a bit stronger than the TSX. In exchange for power, the TSX is more comfortable.

Personally, I'd go with the TSX. If you want some extra speed, try adding a spoiler.

please tell me your joking.
and again, it sounds like you dont totally need awd, instead you could just invest in some good snow tires for the winter and think of some other alternatives.

So you can increase down force on the rear on a fwd vehicle?

Which also increases drag which will SLOW the car down. But hey, any car with winter tires will only get as far as the tires can go but really. For a guy who has driven FWD and only FWD cars in deep snow. I wished I had AWD. Getting stuck is the worst thing you can have happen in snow.

Well there are many who've said that the A4 is better looking but you decide for yourself:

Acura TSX

Audi A4
