hi~ i'm getting a new phone this week since my old nokia 5300 broke. now i cant decide which one to get/ which one is better.

*im a rogers carrier btw *

]

the nokia 5800 - $199.99
the sony ericsson w705a: $149.99
the Sony Ericsson C510: $49. 99

they all the 3.2 MP camera,
only the nokia and SE w705a has wifi
the nokia 5800 is a resistive touch screen (i'm kinda skeptical about this sleep.gif)

i've been using nokia phones for 6 years now,,, should i switch to SE?

i know the nokia 5800 is packed with stuff, wifi, music player, double LED flash, GPS...but I already have an iPod touch so i already have pretty good wifi on that and a decent music player..I was going to choose the nokia but then i read a bunch of reviews for it and some people say the touch screen isn't as good? and now I'm stuck with this conflict. sleep.gif

which phone would be better and more efficient?
and which phone appeals to you the most? (as in first impressions) -- i like a phone that looks pretty too haha ><

thanks for any suggestions/ advice ^^

I have the 5800 xpressmusic. If you are not a fan of touchscreen keyboard, then do not get this. The resistive touch screen is actually pretty good. (If you are a fan of heat sensored screen, then I'm not sure if you will like the resistive screen). Some of the things are tiny, so it's good to be able to use your nails for it. Plus, it comes with a stylus. I personally prefer the resistive screen because I used my friend's iPhone to text and it's really hard because you can't use your nails and the letters on the keyboards are small. I would say that the SE phones have better cameras than the Nokia 5800. When I take pictures from it and compare it with a older SE phone that is only 2.0 megapixels, it sometimes piss me off because it's not even as clear as a 2.0 SE camera phone.

Good luck. smile.gif

i wouldnt recommend the 2nd one because it could get easily broken. i`d choose the 3rd one (cheaper and classic) from what you posted since i`m not a fan of touchscreen ones, although for me nokia are the best phones.

after having my nokia 5310, i don't think i'd want to get another nokia. unless it's an n or e series tongue.gif

Nokia phones are ok, but from the ones i've used, the camera quality isn't extremely good, i find the user interface a bit harder to navigate, & they're sometimes a bit laggy. sad.gif I'm not sure about the 5800 though, i haven't tried one before. but the touchscreen looks like it might make typing a bit harder, although it might have a qwerty keyboard onscreen. :S

personally, I like sony ericsson phones more. their menus more intuitive, and their media playback seems to be better, & easier to use. The only downside to sony ericsson phones is that they usually use M2 memory sticks (other than the K850i), which cost more than microSD cards & aren't as standard with non-sony devices. W-series phones are usually pretty good, especially for media playback & their cameras are above average, too. I haven't tried the C510 before, but I have a C905a, which i actually find pretty good. The c-series has a lot more camera features (mine has AF, face detection, a few different focus modes, smile shutter, flash, & image stabilization), but it might be a bit thick :\

I would go with one of the sony ericsson's, but maybe you should try one out first, see if you like it.
but i guess it depends on what you mainly use the phone for... like if you text a lot, then maybe the SE's might be a better choice, but if you're gonna use wifi, & maybe watch videos, then the Nokia 5800 might be better for it. As for a camera, i usually find SE cameras to be nicer than nokias, but i'm not really sure about these models in particular..
well, hope i helped!

ps: i'm also on rogers ! tongue.gif
