I think Jay Chou makes quite good music along with his lyrics makes him such a singer/song writer.
What are some of your favourites?

I second this, love meaningful lyrics.

Hm, I think the GazettE songs are quite meaningful, like Reila and Cassis and Taion (♥)
aaand, Sky by Loveholic. That song literally made me cry. Haru Haru too by Big Bang, although it was mostly the chorus (and some of the rap) that stood out to me.

Also, most DBSK ballads are really pretty.

yes i agree Jay Chou has wonderful lyrics! esp. "Hair Like Snow". i also hear Wang Lee Hom, but i'm not really into him :/
i would also say: Epik High (1 Minute 1 Second), Joanna Wang (Vincent), David Tao (Ordinary Friends), Anson Hu (Xiao Xiang Rain), basically a lot of chinese singers ^o^

I don't know. I don't get/understand Asian lyrics. I haven't heard a single Asian song with "meaningful" lyrics. Try corny & confusing.

I LOVE the song "K" by Bump of Chicken. It's kind of an old song, but I never get tired of it.
It tells a lovely parable, so bittersweet and very beautiful, I do tear up every time I hear it.
I love it~~~

Denise Ho comes on the top of my head. Cause she likes to talk about really controversial topics like homosexuality. Like one of my favorite songs "Coffee in a Soda Bottle" which is basically an allegory for a person who feels like a woman stuck in a man's body.

And her latest album talks about society and how it's all just a big mental disease...

almost all Utada's songs have meaningful lyrics, especially the Japanese ones.
To name a few:
-Sakura Drops
-Wait and See
-Hikari
-Automatic
-Deep River
-Blue
-Prisoner of Love
-Stay Gold
-Sunglasses
-Parody
-Keep Trying

and so so so many more. Not to mention the melody is just so endearing and sound very very poetic.
wow, I sound like Utada's biggest fan haha
Ayumi Hamasaki have some thoughtful and nice lyrics too.
