...living at home with your family where the teeth of reality aren't quite so sharp yet.

If you are, I'm not mad at you, I'm jealous and bitter. laugh.gif

I'm completely willing to hire someone at $9/ hour to live in my closet to come out at midnight and sprinkle fairy dust over my bed to make all of my problems go away. Don't worry, it's a walk-in cloest, you've plenty of leg room.

LOL

I'm unfortunately still living at home, but trust me, for myself there is no lala land. I stayed home to help my parents when my dad lost his job. I bought him a car (and pay for it), not to mention my own stuff. No true privacy (for uh...one one one time with the s/o..not that I have one right now, but just sayin'...). After I pay for the new HVAC unit & installation (joy!), I'm focusing on my own place again, for the 50 milltionth time. *sigh* Something always gets in the way when I have enough saved.

I think once I get a car, my bills will increase quite a bit sad.gif

free food, free room and board.. a chauffer... it's all good except the nagging :X

I don't quite make "enough" to move out yet. my full time job became a part-time job because of the slow down in the economy

Honestly, I don't think that just because you live at home doesn't mean it isn't just as hard. :/

I do live at home but I give my parents money and help pay for the bills. I rather like staying close to my parents because you only have them for so long. Besides, why would I want to go out and pay like over 1k to live outside of my house by myself when I can live with my parents and pretty much split the costs? Unless I really had to move out because of work or school then that's a different story.

But I guess yes, with your definition, I still live in "lala land". tongue.gif

Yes I am in "Lala Land" but it's not very Lala for me.
I have to pay rent, my insurance to the car, all my bills etc. I may as well be a homestay than a daughter of this family.

you will be in lala land here, as a damned apartment cost 300k to half a million dollars easily. In US dollars, probably USD200k to 400k

Nope.

I moved out 3 years ago beginning of my freshman year in college. It's hard, having an apt, being a student and having so much bills. o_O But I love it...freedom is awesome.

I visit home rarely...prob once a month, if maybe. My former bedroom at my parent's house is now a storage for my brother and sister's items, haha.

I'm definitely still in Lala Land. I don't have to pay any bills. All I have to do is make dinner, bring my grandma to her appointments, and do random errands.

I'd like to get out of this land soon.

I'm thinking about it.

My friend/classmate and I are working at the same place. I worked at this place since last September, pretty much after I graduated, and my friend got laid off his job back in December and had odd-jobs until March. I set him up with a job at my place, and I think we're at similar pay.

Anyways, I ended up moving into a tiny apartment in a prestigious neighborhood of Boston, while my friend (let me remind you: he graduated with me, he was not working for a couple of months, and he is only now working with me) lived way outside of Boston since December with his fiance's parents. Guess what.. I'm barely any closer to saving up the down-payment for a house, while my friend just TODAY (I found out five minutes ago) is closing in on a house. FML

Of course, it was a decision I made for paying a high rent, especially in a small apartment, so I definitely cast the blame upon myself for it. Next year I'll be heading off to graduate school, and I'm moving into my girls parents' house. The only problem with that is not saving much money for a downpayment. Then again.. if I want to get graduate school out of the way in 2 school years, that's what I need to do.

I live at home with my parents. I was renting before but the owners lost the house. So now I'm living with my parents and saving up for a house. I can't stand living with my parents though. Once you move out and have lived on your own for a while it's hard re-adjusting to living with your parents again.

I honestly wish I still lived at home. I'm not regretting it though, since now that I've had a taste of bitter reality I'm a hell of a lot better person now than I was before lol...

Still free food, free rent and free almost everything is heaven biggrin.gif

I live away from my mom. I live near my school.. but she still pays for my rent, utilities, & insurance. My brother pays for my phone bills. SO... I guess I am still in lalaland.

Everyone in my family does. My mom still gives my brothers money and they're 30+. She still pays for their school loans and car insurances. Lol.
