I despised guys who smokes, i can't stand the smell of it.

I totally agreed with sparky18...it's a little bit late to be slamming YGEnt and GD for the plagiarism issue now...it has been over a month now that the album was released to the public and HB's promotions almost at an end. Don't you guys think it's a little bit weird that Sony (a huge international company) waited a month later or took a month to review and declare that they did find similarities between the songs?

I have no real comment about GD smoking because I'll probably go into a tirade about the hazards of cigarettes, and just get into a very foul mood for the rest of the night. I do love the other pictures because you can see how much fun he's having after such a great performance.

As for Sony's warning, I'm happy it's just a warning because I was expecting worse. However, it is very odd that it took so long to come out AND they're also warning two other YG songs (one of which has been out for quite a while). I'm waiting to hear what YG/GD has to say, but my hunch is that they knew something was up since they announced that GD would promote several other songs (two of which are popular and haven't had "plagiarism issues"). We'll just have to wait and see what happens - hoping for peaceful resolution!

Breathe MV is going to be out soon (I hope)! I'm going to try to stay up as long as I can to wait for it to come out, but I'm sure I'll have a great morning starter if it comes out late. I don't necessarily love the song, but the teaser from HB is making me really excited to see the whole MV.

And just as a reminder, while we can spazz all we want about the MV when it comes out, make sure not to spam.

What YGEnt and GD are doing right now is what I term "noise marketing" - here are the reasons:

1. Plagirism issue spread like wildfire throughout korea and international kpop sites when GD released his HB preview on G2Day - what I find interesting was the fact that he released only the parts that sounded like Flo-Rider. Even before the album was released, many (fans/netizens/antis/non-fans) are interested about his album b/c of the hype and problems surrounding it. Where was Sony and YGEnt and GD during this time?
- Sony said they will look into it
- YGEnt and GD kept quiet - no statments were released (in offense or defense)

2. GD started promotions - HB topped charts, won numerous awards back-to-back, sell many albums. Fans and netizens embraced GD wholeheartedly and the whole plagirism issue just magically **poof** gone. Where was Sony during this time? No where to be seen.

3. Breathe (the next single) is scheduled to be release today - so what happens? All of a sudden, the whole plagirism is back! And to top it off, pics of GD smoking blatantly in public was released - all this in the same day. Big coincidence? Since the hype of GD's solo has died down somewhat (understandable since it was released a month ago) GD has to find a way to create interest in Breathe...and this may be his way of providing publicity...

I could be totally off-base, but what do you guys think?

well...if you go on naver, there's been countless articles which bacially say the same thing that allkpop says. im assuming it took sony this long bc there were more than 10 people involoved in composing right round. and i think from the beginning , they said this wouldnt be decided quickly anyways. i dunno whats gonna happen from here on..heopfully yg releases a statement quickly. im assuming yg will either have to not promote the involved songs at all..or pay up some copyright $$ like other korean artists have done so.

im wondering how this will affect the rest of the album promotions. esp with the butterly mv..

i just find it so unfortunate. gd is such a talent and its so sad that his 1st album has to go this way. this wouldnt have been such a big news if it were anyone else..but gd gets so much spotlight on him since he's young, talented etc. i dont agree with sony's stance..but whether or not the plagarism claim was official or not, i feel like all that talk kinda stained his album in a way...altho his album sold more than tae's, it didnt get the critical acclaim that tae's did (as a musician, i think gd would prefer the latter). which i find most disappointing. about all this since gd's a musician before fashionista, kpop icon, anything.

If you guys truly thing YG ent has control over a big music corp like Sony to bring about noise marketing you need to start laying off the crack.

GD is pretty Lucky that he got his awards and stuff now instead of later. And waiting a month before stopping a artist from promoting songs may seem like a long time for you but if you look in the long run, he wont be able to perform/promote those songs anymore unless he wants legal actions taken against him. So dont expect those songs at Concerts/shows or whatever until they have this whole matter settled.

Now then the smoking thing was brought about last year already so having news of it now is just a repeat. If he smokes he smokes (to us International Fans) but to Koreans who have the mind set that all their idols should be held at a higher pedestal than them while being watched under stricter eyes than them its a pretty big deal so understand where the differences in our culture to them b4 we get 32 pages of it doesnt matter that he smokes and what not.

Though in all reality it doesnt bug me if he smokes/drinks he's past the legal age promotes beer and deals with a mini cooper ton of stress. Luckily he isnt like Mike tyson with cocaine all over his car dashboard while the cops pull him over for a open gascap

i have known that he's been smoking

but he stopped for a while

You ust said it your self 10 parties involved in the production so it would take a while to figure what they wanted to do. Its just like the law here we got statutes of limitations where we have soo long until we are unable to press charges for something. And with something like this taking 1 month to go through meetings between 10 parties who have their own different conflicting schedules isnt so long. Like i said should just find yourself lucky that he got what he did early on cuz if they would have just said oh we're halting your promotions for this indefinaltly cuz we think you plagarised sooo many songs would go through this and you'd hardly hear new music without drama. plus they did give a warning early on that they would be talking with the producers and now they've come to a midway decision to halt it now/for now and may decide to take legal actions or not just wait it out.
