OMG, SPAZZ.

I just got my Heartbreaker CD in the mail! I went out to the kitchen and noticed a brown box sitting on the table.
I went to go look at it and it was addressed to my mom so I was like okay BUT saw that it was from Hong Kong,
(YesAsia is based in HK) and literally spazzed asking when it arrived and such. I swear I didn't hear the doorbell ring.
When I received it, I felt like a little kid on Christmas. I was totally excited and my fam was like wth? Haha.
I wanted to open it by myself and ran to my room and my niece followed me but I was like, "What are you doing?
I need my alone time." Lmao.

So, when I finally opened it I was a bit disappointed due to the fact that G-Dragon's tip of the nose on the front cover
was pushed in =( So, I pushed it back using a q-tip but you can still see like indent marks? Ugh, so I may just buy
another one from another site along with the poster. Im kinda a neat freak and need my things to be perfect.
Getting back to the CD..
It was actually quite nicely packaged. I was suprised. It is defly unique to other CD packages which I love.
I especially loved the photo jacket album. It was really nice. The colors and the type of paper used to print it was
really fabulous. I didn't expect it to be so big and thick but it was. I absolutley LOVE it!

Now I know how you other soompiers felt when you recieved your CD in the mail. Truly worth it.
Especially since I start class later and was totally not feeling it. This just made my day.


Oh yeah, didn't get to congratulate Kwon Leader on his awesome comeback performance. Loved it.
Can't wait to see him perform on MB this week. You can always expect something GREAT & entertaining from him.

love love LOVED his comeback performance!!! our g-d has not yet failed to impress me with his lives and his songs. 'HEARTBREAKER' has such a wonderfully catchy chorus, and i love the eerie, melancholic background feel to 'BREATHE'. the whole "forbidden apple/fruit" effect to his whole new album [at least...i think it's the "forbidden apple/fruit" theme] is just so unique and great and all that wonderful stuff. : D

About GD'S solo stage:

I don't know about you guys, but I love the bright white background and lights - that along with GD's platinum hair really catches one's attention right off the bat.

HB - HB is a hard song to perform too - GD's all by himself so he has to dance, rap, sing, create an atmosphere all at the same time. What I was dissappointed about was the fact that there was less dancing than I thought, especially from GD. Overall, he lived up to my expectations, hope that he'll perform better for his next stage.

Breathe - Breathe was NOT one of my favorite songs; however, his stage dramatically bumped that song up the list. I love his energy, coordinated and random movements, facial expressions, and KILLER SMILES! After this performance, GD proves that hip-hop can be cute too.

4/10? I would rate this performance on a higher scale. His stage was a lot better compared to GD's little sisters (I'm not going to name names) first performance .

Waiting patiently for Sept 2 (Choco) and Sept 4 (MB) - show us what you got GD!

Reading the reviews about the performance made me look forward to it.

I agree that GD was nervous in Heartbreaker perf, but he slowly began to relax through his Breathe perf.

I loved his relaxed, casual clothes in Breathe Perf. (Especially his white jacket)

Anyway, a job well done for a solo debut!! ^^

All of this right now is possible because he became popular and reached National Artist status with Bigbang. I know he was already known before he was in Bigbang, he's already done so much with his fellow YG artists as a feature rapper together with Taeyang but when he debuted as the leader of Bigbang, that was when people really got to know him, not just the 20s and below people but even those who are 30 and 40, even older.

It may only seem like this to you because right now, GD is the one doing his solo promotions and people are really curious as to how the leader of Bigbang will fare as a solo artist. It's still the VIPs supporting him in getting all of this attention along with all the haters that comes with his fame.

GD, also, individually, is successful. But not in the national recognition that Bigbang has already attained (also because of GD).

It's like... a Catch 22 situation. Hope I'm making sense.

This has already been done before so many times. Even before America's best dance crew show aired it. I mean, heck, when I was in 1st year highschool, we did it for a big scale production for a year end performance. And that was... 8 years ago.

LOL, the article your mom read is probably one of those... "bored writers" write ups. Everybody who has seen the CD's lyrics pages will see who wrote and co-composed all of the songs- GD himself.


And about the 4minute thing, well. I'm not offended by your post. If anybpdy here is offended, hm. Let's just say they must think that GD is not GD.

Anyways, the article stated how 4minute's new song has been climbing up the charts 3 days after its release. GD's 10 songs are all in the charts 3 seconds after their release and still are there 3 weeks after.

Oh well, it's kind of useless. GD and 4minute are not in the same level. 4minute is a girlgroup and GD is a solo artist.

@ DEBUT SOLO STAGE
I've always loved Breathe. It is ranked 4th in my Fave GD Album Songs. And his performance made me like it more.

In Heartbreaker, he needs to portray someone who is heartbroken, hence, the more intense face with less smiles. In Breathe though, he is happy and energetic, flying all over the stage. He was extremely excited. So cute! I loved the part where he was on the floor with the dancer! And of course, the many smiles that he throws. The audience screams every time.

I just can't help but think how funny it is that he looks like a little boy in Breathe whereas the lyrics of the song is about a matured theme.

I'm not surprised. GD is a perfectionist (along with Seungri in BB, GD is more though). And as much as we all think the performance is AMAZING (cause it is it is it is!!!!), we can see that he was nervous and he strains his voice at times. I mean, dancing, singing and looking so damn sexy all at the same time? Must be so tiring.

It's good that the debut solo stage isn't perfect for him. That means he'll continue to work hard and improve each time.


And knowing how Bigbang performs their songs, I wonder what GD will do next week. And what he will wear!

I made a separate entry in my LJ regarding GD's performance in Inki last Sunday.
The boy is really tough on himself, giving a rating of 4/10..That's the perfectionist side of him speaking..I like that attitude but I hope its not always..He needs to give himself some slack coz he did well.
As for improvement, I am sure its really so different for him to perform without the four guys and he will eventually continue to be ease and improve more.

Up to this point, I am still in awe why they are so many who hates him...I guess he can't please everybody. I just hope he continues on with what he do best and not be affected by all the stuff that they are throwing at him.

The guy rated himself a 4?? Lol..he's a perfectionist. Not that he's not good enough but I'm trying to give a very unbiased rating on his performance. His energy is there, dancing and swagger is there too. But one thing he needs to improve is his singing..I can barely hear him in "Heartbreaker". I heard the MR version. It's better than the live version. But he can definitely improve there. (Don't spam me, guys..he did well but improvements are always good, right?) I prefer "Heartbreaker" over "Breathe" but performance wise, it's "Breathe" over "Heartbreaker" 'coz he had more fun there and it's infectious. He just won me with that smile at the end..*swoon*

Yes, the MR was on for those parts. I think it's intentional. He wasn't even trying to sing on it. And yes please, singing. But ofcourse, GD isn't a singer. he's a rapper. YG did say that GD hates singing. haha~

Boy is a personal song. That's why it's the very first track. It's like he was saying, "This is me." and then he lets us listen to the other songs. Boy is a very great song, it's my 2nd most fave song in the album. But GD chose Heartbreaker because it's catchier and stronger.

Just watch, when TOP and TaeYang come out with their solo, it probably will be like this too.
