Okay so between a Evo 8 and a Impreza Sti which should i get?

What are the pros and cons of both cars especially the interior design (which one is more comfortable)

What year STi? The STi ride is a little smoother, depending on the year of the Evo 8 it won't have the options to select gravel, tarmac, or snow. Also the older Evo have a little smaller turbo's and imo those ugly blue checkered seats. The older Evo's carbon fiber wing have fade.

On the other hand the Evo is faster no doubt and the STi is more frequenty stolen.

stock for stock:

sti has a better interior and a slightly more comfortable ride. Bigger gas tank than the evo 16 vs 14 gallons

evo is slightly faster in a straightline and the twisties.

When modded, Evo's gas mileage is terrible. With just exhaust, cams and tune, some have only gotten 150-200 miles per tank. On the flip side, it's power potential is much greater on the stock turbo than the Sti.

great.. the biggest dilemma.
i'm a huge fan of the Evo and Sti
but i never got a ride in any of them. but i did get to sit in them. haha

I heard sti is ALOT more fun. than evo. (people who experienced) but that depends on your preference of what fun is.

evo has better handling than sti

sti sounds better than evo.

sti or subaru in general are more reliable and safer.

evo looks better by style. yet sti is more popular due to WRC.

but if I had a choice. i'd go with the sti.
unless if it's the evo 9. i'd go with the evo 9.

but yeah sti.....in the end.

edit-
also sti has stronger gearbox and stronger chassis.

Have a look at these. Good perspective on both cars.

few more things to add, while both are very reliable statistics show the sti is less prone to break. Also if you get en Evo 8 or 9 and it has HID's its going to cost you a decent penny to change the bulb because the bumper has to come out to replace it, or so i hear

Okay so i took both an evo 8 and sti for a test spin around and in my own opinion when i tested out the 2 (both are my friends car so they probably did some mod and tweak) i find the sti to be a smoother ride at higher speed and on bumpy road, also the gearbox is easier for me to handle when i change gear.

On the other hand when i ride the evo 8 the style and OMFG the torgue was AWESOME like VROOOOOM PSSSSS and all the traffic is miles behind me. The gearbox didn't quite handle as good as the sti but dont get me wrong im not saying its bad, its still awesome just not as good.

Overall the evo 8 fit my style abit more but then i tend to drive for 1hr to get to college and during long ride on an evo 8 dont seem to be as enjoyable as an sti. So im still thinking on which one to get, a comfortable ride or a stylish ride

Used to be a huge evo 9 fan and was seriously thinking about buying one used.

I think the Sti and evo are bout even...u get a better ride in thesti while u sacrifice some performance while the evo sacrifices ride quality but puts up better numbers

I'd go for the sti

keep in mind what I said in a previous post, if you mod an Evo (full exhaust, cams, tune), your gas mileage goes straight down the crapper. The Sti holds 2 gallons more gas and doesn't consume as much fuel like the Evo when similarly modded (full exhaust and tune). Oil is getting more expensive and you'll soon find out a 1 hour drive each way every day, you'll need to fill up like twice a week, on premium gas.

Not that u buy these cars for good gas mileage, but it's something to think about. $2.5k-3k for fuel per year, plus insurance another $2k per year. Be prepared to spend around $5k a year.

I would say an Evo just because I see one everyday, sitting in the driveway. STI's are not as roomy as the Evo and they are slower. Hahaha.

Both cars have sucky mileage. Why not get something that gets good mileage if you are plan to driving an hour to school and hour driving back home. Just to fill up the tank in Texas is like $35-$40 at around $2.69 a gallon and that is only going to last you like 3-4 days, 5 days max.

must be nice paying that low. Premium here in CA runs $3.25-$3.30 a gallon

I'm sorry this post probably has no backbone at all, since I've only test driven the 04/05 STi's and driven my friends modded evo 8.

If I had to compare the two, the STi was a lot more fun and comfortable for me. Though I've never gotten the chance to really drive it like I did the evo because I had a salesman breathing down my neck. Even if you think the evo is more "stylish" I'm thinking the evo is not that far ahead in terms of speed to make it seem like the STi can't do what you felt that the evo could do.
