I've taken China Airlines like, every time I went back to Taiwan and came back here. Which must have been at least 20 times. Seeing as I'm still here, I suppose it's pretty safe biggrin.gif

Just don't worry about it ^^

I've been on china airlines a couple of times.
The flight attendants kept my mind off the potential dangers.

I've taken China Air before as well haha
I agree, it's kinda crappy, but I don't think you have anything to worry about. Even if their records are a little worse than other companies, you're still statistically more likely to be involved in a fatal car accident than a plane crash. I mean, think about it, if 6 out of 1 million planes crash, you'd have to fly like 500,000 times to statistically be likely to be involved in a crash~
You should be fine happy.gif

^ yeah i wasnt sure about that.. i dont get it...

is thats how it works? is that what it means 7 fatal accidents out of 1 million flights?

but they have 1 accident per yr so they have 1 million flights per yr?

oh i paid a cheap price fot my tickets.. i just wanna get from Piont A to Piont B safely..

Then you should've taken a boat?

You're just being paranoid, even the worst airlines are safer than riding in a car (as in, fatal car accidents are MUCH more likely), which you've probably done before.

my grandpa takes china airlines every time he goes
to Vietnam so i'm guessing that it's safe cause he's
still here? i'm pretty sure if you just focus on something
else you won't be so nervous during the plane ride ;D

7 out of 1 million verses 2 out of 1 million fatalities is statistically insignificant. It seems like they're saying you're 3x more likely to die with China Airlines, but what it's really saying is, the chance of you dying with China Airlines is 0.0007% and with regular airlines is 0.0002%.

^ but do u agree the percentage should be higher?

cuz i doubt they fly 1 million per year yet each year there is a crash?

Don't worry about it, it's pretty alright.
I was on an air bus for a 13/14 hour flight and the entertainment center screen had a pretty good selection of relatively new movies.
You're taking a risk every time you fly but before I went on the flight, I was really hesitant about flying with China Airlines as well.
Many people said that although they had a bad record in the past, their safety standards have improved a lot.

It's Philippine Airlines you should be worried about lol.

Hmm I've never been on that airline before but I don't think you should worry that much.
How long is the flight anyways?

The percentage is 0.0007% per 1,000,000 flights crash, that's not going to change, that's based on quantity, nothing to do with time.
You say they've had one crash a year, but then you said their last crash was in 2007, so that's kind of contradictory, as that means it can be over two years since their last crash, and means you can't really calculate an accurate percentage/year flights that crash, unless you just do an average, which is why whoever calculated that did it /per 1 million flights instead.
Don't over-analyze it, you're going to be fine haha. smile.gif If the airline was really dangerous, they would have shut it down already. Flying is always safer than driving, do you worry this much every time you get in a car?

ohh okay if 6.44 = 0.0007% per million thats fine....
i thought that meant 0.07% as in 7% out of a million (cuz to me thats alot!!)
also i think i worry less while in a car cuz when im with a driver i tell them to slow down (cuz i dont have control over the environment) meaning others around me might be bad drivers and i always wear a seat belt, so the chances of dying is slim, bigger chance of getting a injury, unless its some freak accident like a big commercial truck rolls over and smashes the entired SUV. mellow.gif ohmy.gif

I took China airlines this vacation and omg sleep.gif

We had so many delays from 8 to 12 hours ,
I felt asleep when we are about to take off , 7 hours later i woke up
So i looked trough the window and i thought "oh goody we already landed"

Then my friend said we didnt even take off yet.xD
airconditioning also didnt work and everyone was yelling
god i remember it was so warm and we didnt get any food or drink!

It was a nightflight from Peking to Guangzhou , dont want to experience that anymore

Apparently the cause of the 8 hours delay was because it was raining in Guangzhou but i dont think thats was the problem because i called my friend in guangzhou and he said it wasnt raining xD

When I took China Airlines in April to Taiwan, nothing bad happened. Everything was on time, some turbulence but nothing that'll knock you off your feet, and I spent most of the time awake reading books. You'll get through it or you can always cancel and book a flight with Air China.
