guys, i'm not criticizing the talents of sm.
i'm a fan of taeyeon myself and she's in an idol group produced by sm.

i just don't like how sm commercializes their talents
and sm doesn't seem to care that much to produce great music

well they did say it's a pop dance group or wtvr so i won't even bother taking the whole "new concept" thing seriously. how different can you get with a pop dance group right? lol.
and companies always say that about their new group "fresh! different! etc" and they all end up pretty much the same. if not cute then fierce or totally colorful.

Ikr? "fresh and different" is like the most overused word in kpop this year. And did we have anyone that is fresh and different? NONE. lol! To me at least.

XD The press released didn't say anything about it too. It would also be a pity if they would be hated by rabid fans for that reason and them being a mere shadow of someone. At least they are standing on their own.. well, at atm that is. XD

I thought SNSD would flop when they first came out, but look at their success now. Those who say f(x) will not do well, please hold your horses. And besides, I don't think SM has even thought of using this girl group to compete with the market now. They have SNSD for that. With adding two Chinese members, SM probably has them planned for the Chinese market.

To be honest, I don't like their teaser. It's sexy, but this new single sounds very NOT my type. But I don't know if it's just me, but after all this researching I've been trying to do on them, I'm starting to like them. And besides, Victoria is amazing ^^ Amber is fierce, but she somewhat scares me in a way lol I hope SM doesn't screw this girl group up and give them good music. SJ's Sorry, Sorry was an amazing album and it actually gave me hope in listening more of SM's works.

lol yes i don't have any objection about 2ne1 being the best rookie this year but i don't even think SM's main objection of debuting these girls is for them to pwn and to be this year girl group .. especially not when it's this late already

Okay, I tend to blabber every time I make my very first post on a group, be it new or not..
So be ready with all my rants below.. XD

I'm gonna put DBSK aside because like some others, I don't think DBSK; SM; lawsuit have anything to do with this new group.. I think it's more of the catching up with what's happening in the kpop scene right now.. YG, M.net, Cube have released their own new girl groups.. It's only a matter of time before SM does too.. And about "how about SNSD?", I don't even know how that came about because they had just finished their promotions and I believe they stopped it for a reason..? Like debuting a new group..? Though I do admit their promotions this time were short.. >_< As for CSJH & JRI, I was hoping they would do something too.. But I guess SM knows what he's doing.. Who knows he has something up his sleeves that we don't know about..

And I'm quite surprised how SM is keeping up with all of his groups.. He has been debuting new groups since 2004-2009.. DBSK (2004; end of Dec 2003), CSJH (2005), Super Junior (2006: end of 2005), SNSD (2007), SHINee (2008), f(x) (2009).. Another fact which I found unsurprising that it's a female group after SHINee this year.. He's been doing that for the past years.. ^

Now, f(x), I didn't expect something like that from the teaser, but from what I've heard and seen so far, the girls are at a good start.. Krystal and Victoria have already made a very big first step for them.. And their special privilege is that they're from SM.. And he is knwon as THE man, enough said.. XD

As for the concept, it can be new and it can be not if you look at it properly.. It can be new in two aspects: amongst new girl groups these days; for a debut concept for SM artist.. It's not new because previous generations of artistes have had the concept before.. What's more, SM already stated they're a pop dance group.. But from what I've seen with new girl groups these days, it's alllll colors, which can make my eyes go a little woozy at times.. .__. So it can be more like relishing the past concept in midst the whole vivid color concepts that we're having right now.. And I don't think it's a sexy cconcept at all.. The black leather outfits look more sleek than sexy.. And the cowboy outfits look cooler than sexy..

I find absolutely nothing wrong with the member arrangement.. Huge age gap is a total clear because there are other groups which have even bigger age gaps between the oldest&youngest member.. As for a 94-er being too young, I think every group had gone through this since like 2 years ago.. Wonder Girls debuted, SunMi & SoHee were said to be too young.. SHINee debuted, Taemin was said to be too young.. And now Krystal and SulRi are said to be too young with a sexy concept, the same case WG went through.. But all in all, these people actually debuted at the same age.. 15 (Western Age) 16 (Korean Age)..

Now, the members individually..
Victoria Song: I haven't heard her sung before so it's natural to question her vocal abilities.. But she already has her popularity to speak of from the CFs, etc. she's done.. So yeah, I'm really curious on how her singing is..
Amber: She is.... handsome?! And DANG! She's hella mysterious! And I'm pressing the HELLA here.. She did remind me of Jiyoon 4minute at first glance but then I realize she's way different! She's a TOTAL/100% REAL tomboy! And yeah, I agree that it's NOT a concept.. XD
Luna: She really looks like BoA! O.o And I need more information on her! XD
SulRi: She's so beautiful now!!! DDD: I didn't expect to see her in this group.. I didn't even know she was in SM even after watching her in DBSK's Vacation.. XD But really! She's hella pretty now! I'm loving her!
Krystal: She and Jessica are both very pretty, but they don't resemble each other much.. XD Krystal looks more... Korean? XD I'm only seeing her popularity right now, but I have a small hope that she'll be good vocally seeing as her sister is a good singer.. The genes.. You never know.. lol!

Okay, I might sound I was defending these girls way too much with my statements above.. But being me, the most important thing I'm looking in debuting artistes is whether they CAN sing or NOT.. I don't buy the crap about wholeheartedly being passionate on stage.. Being a SINGING artiste is not just about being passionate on stage.. Priority should go to their singing abilities/talents.. Then come other talents subsequently, from music production to passion to stage presence to individual talents..

So it still comes down to live performances for me.. When the full MV comes out, I have a feeling I might like them more.. But the real judgement comes after I've seen their official live debut performance.. But so far, I think out of all entertainment companies, SM & M.net Media have the best live singing artistes.. So I do have some hope for these girls..
