Hey everyone, jaeka here.

Okay, so first of all, I suffer panic attacks. And recently, I've been having this weird... mouth thing. It feels like my tongue and mouth is tensing up, I chew the inside of my cheeks and my teeth keep grinding together. I heard these are symptons of anxiety? If it helps any, when I have panic attacks, I usually just tense up and struggle to breathe... so I don't think it's panic attack related.

I just wondered if it's indeed anxiety causing this... and how can I stop it? =P I had a hard week last week that left me scared to go out the house for a few days but I've built back up my confidence now so... I rly dunno. =X

Can anyone relate? Is it actually anxiety? Any ideas how to help it?

It indeed could definetly be from your anxiety.

Before I started taking medicine for my anxiety I had problems

swallowing and felt like I couldnt control my breathing and ect.

Idk if you see a doctor or not, but I would def recommend it.

I went to a doctor and got medicine and it has changed my life!

I used to suffer from terrible anxiety attacks. And during them, my tongue would get stiff & hard, and my jaw would lock up. Making it difficult to open my mouth. It can still be anxiety related without actually happening during your attack.


You should ask a doctor. He should be able to help you.

Ah, I see, thanks for your inputs.

It just so happens I'm going to the hopsital for a checkup (something to do with my heart and panic attacks etc) so I'll ask about it then.
