I'm having this strange problem where I can't log in with my main MSN messenger account. Ever since I reset my router, I can't log in. However, when I log in with alternative emails, the access is almost instant.

Has anyone had this problem and know a solution for it? For troubleshooting steps I used 'repair' and uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

Thanks.

Uhm. Logging in with new accounts takes at least 2-5mins for MSN Messenger to get everything ready. I once thought my connection had a problem when it took me 5mins to sign in on my friend's computer. It's just MSN. Wait for it. If it takes longer than 30minutes.... Mmmmmmmmmmmm.

That happened to me and my friend once. My friend said she just reset her router to fix the problem... So I guess you could try resetting it again? I just made a new account. |8

can you logon to hotmail or any other windows live service using the same email?

try adjusting the account settings offline, it could be that the connection settings are tweaked slightly and can not work with your router's current configuration
