Don't say it at all."

I don't understand the purpose of this phrase. The user is essentially filtering out anyone that provides

-rude remarks
-negative feedback
-constructive criticism

Which is basically everything except all those happy positive posts like "I love this <3" or "I totally agree with you".
If you write something questionable, no doubt you're going to get questioned.

I think this applies to situations where a thread is regarding a certain celebrity (where it's dedicated to THEM, so in favour of) or when the OP is looking for solace(in relationships forum) instead of criticism, which sometimes don't help at all. Also, it's part of good etiquette.
Thank you for the Music..

Obviously they are insecure and they like people to cushion and sugar coat everything.

Like when I correct people's spelling on their projects, they still get mad.

I completely go against this saying.
my butt, if I have something to say then I'll say it, its called "opinion"
If I go against something DBSK does then I write it in a DBSK forum or anything else.
you know, things like that lol.
My hugs hurt, so close your eyes because the hug monster is coming your wayyy. rawr ; ]

It's usually the person being blunt, they're not trying to hurt your feelings. But a lot of people take things what people say personally and end up being all butt hurt.

Bashing (having nothing good to say) does not equal constructive criticism. Can't a person comment like this: "I like what you've done there but maybe you should try it like this to make it better." Because really, saying "that f-cking sucks", calling it honesty, then just leaving is... well, that's just pointless anyway. Hmm... maybe the saying should be changed to "if you have nothing good to say or if you can't explain what you don't like in a civil manner, then you shouldn't say anything at all" xD

Constructive criticism is not sugarcoating. It is giving valid feedback, positive or negative.

well if you don't allow all the negative comments then you can't really improve.

constructive criticism is a good thing. some people don't realize that so they take it personally. however there's no point in comments like "go suck a ****" or "this ****ing sucks." i don't see how those comments can help anyone... if they do then lol umm it's great that someone is so motivated... i guess.
