About 8 years ago, my dad had an open heart surgery because he had a heart disease which made a hole in his heart. Is this hereditary? Will I probably have the same fate as him?

you should ask your doctor about that. and maybe he/she can provide ways to help prevent you from ever needing surgery.

If it is hereditary, remember it's not a given, it only means you have a higher risk of getting heart disease.
Therefore you should reduce that risk as much as you can with diet, exercise, and supplements.
If it's not hereditary, it still doesn't hurt to follow this advice:
lHeart friendly diet and exercise

Yeah, heart disease runs in my family. My dad had open heart surgery as well and I too worried if I would have heart disease in the future. But actually knowing family history, it made me more aware and concerned about my own health. So in not wanting to have the same fate and reduce the risk of having issues in the future, I take better care of myself, and advising other family members, as well, to make diet changes and exercise.

Lifestyle often outweighs genetics when it comes to heart diseases.

If what you're describing is some congenital defect, you can find out right now by getting your heart checked out.
