It is all a little confusing, say you and a guy are really close like you talk to each other and hang out with each other every so often. Then you begin liking that guy and when he finds out he acts awkward, why does this happen ? When you find out that someone likes you, you begin to act different ?

It's a matter if you want to take a chance. If you really like the guy then you should tell him but you might ruin the friendship. In this case you may have made him awkward after you told him you liked him.

I found out that a guy friend liked me and it kind of made things awkward between us because I didn't feel the same way that he does.

This is not love. This seems more like a crush. He's probably shy for two reasons:

1. He doesn't like you and is giving you the cold shoulder to ward you off.

2. He does like you but doesn't know what to do because its now 'in the air'

If its 2, I suggest you keep talking to him normally, even if he's shy at first. Then eventually he'll be fine.

Yes, that is quite true. But when you know someone that likes you act awkward because, do you tend to avoid because you feel grossed out ? Or you act awkward because you don't want them to think you like them/lead them on ?

The line above, by the way is a scenario I am just curious about why human nature causes us to act awkward.

Alright ; so you want to know the answer to that question of yours well then lets turn this question around to something that will probably be familiar to you since I'm predicting that you are a girl like myself : Why do you avoid a guy you were once friends with once you find out they like you? Sounds familiar enough?

If the guy was actually you know, thoughtful, then they're avoiding you because they don't want to hurt you and lead you on. It's their way of showing they're just not interested. Of course that's not the care for all guys because some just needs time to take it in.

Usually this happens..when the other person..does not feel the same way..They might also be shy..or not want to act..on your feelings towards them..in fear of jeopardizing...the friendship you both share..like many others have stated..i suggest maybe asking him..how he feels about you..
