Does this ever happen to you? I mean on facebook, twitter, email, etc. sometimes I get kind of annoyed. I mean, if someone actually takes the step to wish you a happy birthday, isn't it considered polite to give a 2 second reply even if it's just two words "thank you"? This may not be a really big deal but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this too.

It's kinda weird, but I know some people who think it's stupid to reply to every single message on facebook...apparently it's a sign that you have too much time on your hands sleep.gif; I always take the time to reply to all birthday wishes, but I never expect people to reply to mine anymore.

No I don't really care if they say thanks as long as they wish me a happy birthday when it's my turn. If every person I said happy birthday to wrote thanks back on my facebook wall i'd have an entire wall of thank you's and people asking about my summer and then i'd have to write the same thing back on everyones wall about how summer's ok and i don't want school to start, then they'd write back yea me too and then...haha i dunno just seems very tiring and repetitive. i think status TY's are sufficient. i never really thought it would annoy people if they didn't get a personal thank you i hope i didn't upset anybody :X

I didn't reply when people wished me happy b-day. I posted a status that said "thank you everyone for the b-day wishes". I would say a special thank you back if someone wrote out a super long message etc. Most people just post cause they saw your bday on the side bar thing...you know.
Some people have lots of people posting on their wall and replying to every single message would be tedious/time consuming imo. I didn't even know people expected a response back.

no I don't mind. when you actually say "happy birthday" to the persons face and they end up just staring back at you, then somethings wrong lol. Usually, it would be best if you put "thanks for the birthday wishes dudes and sweethearts. I'll stay alive for my next birthday hahaha jk... no I want to live...^______________^"
My hugs hurt, so close your eyes because the hug monster is coming your wayyy. rawr ; ]

I don't mind.

But one time I wished a friend a happy birthday, and she replied, "haha you're like the 10th person." That's great that you're so popular, but I don't really care :|

why would you be annoyed.. if you were like out of the 100 people that wished them a happy birthday would you expect them to see your post? == or to even bother to say thank you back to all those ppl. if you were really close with that person you would say it in person or on msn, anyway.
