My parents are strict about this too and I'm 19 lol. I totally understand why though, so if I have guy friends over in my room the door is always wide open.

It's not ridiculous, nor is it something that I haven't heard before.
My parents are strict about this too, and though I've never had my boyfriend over for a long period of time, I'm sure my parents wouldn't let him stay in my room alone. I'm 21, and I even understand why. She's your mom, she's just looking out for you. If you really want a boyfriend in your room, just do what RYUUSEi said.

Well, your mom is right about "no boys (unless fiance/husband) in girl's room"!
You don't know something bad can be happen in the future...
I have seen many bad news regarding boy-girl-relationship.

There are some reasons behind it:
1) what if boyfriend secretly put "pervert-hidden-video" in your room while you're not aware of?
> I heard many news about boyfriends used hidden video of girl naked body to threaten girlfriend not to breakup with him unless she stays with him.....Or, he used hidden video for his revenge or money....

2) what if boyfriend suddenly become a rapist or assault you?
He may not be guilty since he can lie that you invite him to your room, and he didn't force you to do that...blah blah blah

I know I may think too much...or you know him really well that he is not like that type guy...
But, I just want to make sure girls to be as much safe as possible.
You will never know his hidden-ugly-behaviours like Chris Brown (I'm sorry to his fans).

yea...when a guy and a girl are together in a room, things happen
my parents would start giving me lectures if that happens
i don't want to have one of "those" talks with my parents again....

She probably has made the conclusion that all teenage guys are just horny all the time.

Or

They'll go through your stuff and sniff it LMAO.

My best friend's brother doesn't like coming into my room (when she's in there too). lol.
My guy friend doesn't like coming into my room either. He'll go into any other room in my house but mine. ie: my mom's

The way I see it, it's just awkward.

iono
when my bf (before we got together) came to my house, we were talking in my room, him on my bed and i was in a chair my mum brought in.
The door was wide open and the dogs ran in and out and in an out
My mum was okay with it
but said next time just sit outside in the lounge room as talk

just do as she says for now
she's only looking out for you

Some parents are traditional in that sense.
My mom won't let me go into any guy's room because she said the guy's parents won't like it.

I'd keep the door open just so it doesn't seem like anything fishy's going on...
My sister brings her bf over all the time and my parents trust them (even if they aren't there to watch over them themselves).

I'm a guy. Come to think of it, the only 2 times I ever brought a friend girl home my mum said " She can't go to your room" even though I just wanted to give her something. Actually I don't think I'd go into any girls room, it looks a bit dodgy. I'd be too shy with her parents.

hahaha that's EXACTLY like my mommy! the "sex" talk for me was,
"If a boy closes the door behind him when you go into a room together, that means DANGER! GET OUT!"
i was told this from a young age and up until today my mom says it before i go to a party, or even just going to hang out with friends.

I agree its a bit ridiculous but try to see it in your mom's point of view. You said so yourself she is very traditional! They way you and your mom see things are different right? My advice is to just let it happen haha, no use arguing against her beliefs, she will just oppose (If she's anything like my mom)

Interesting. I kind of agree that it's ridiculous, but if that's your parents rules then.. follow it, or get a place of your own? Haha.

But yeaah, my parents are pretty strict off that stuff too but for some reason, they don't care. They know I hate hanging out with girls and that majority of my friends are guys. & They do come over to chill, so I guess it's cool. & My boyfriend comes over all the time. o__o; I never heard of what your mom's saying, hah.
