Here's my problem - I live on third floor (just narrow stairways no elevator) and I do not have the strength to carry a full size sofa up 3 flights of stairs. Plus, its too narrow and I would need someone to help me (but I dont have any help). Is there any other sofa alternative I could do for my school apartment? I thought about bean bags but that looks a big sloppy. I even thought about inflatable furniture. Any ideas?

Or do you know a place that can not only deliver it to my place but also carry it up and help me assemble it (if it needs assembling)

I hope this is the right section - cuz it is part of college since.. college student lives in apt (like me)

I'd help you carry it.

Anyways, something like a beanbag would definitely work, although for a proper equivalent, you should consider getting two love chairs or something... or go to Ikea and get a dis-assembled sofa and piece it back together.

ask for white glove service when you buy a couch...
or buy a couch that has separate parts so you can carry them up one by one or something...a bit easier lol.

Hire some workers to help get it upstairs. Seriously.

Or just see if a moving company has some extra hands to help you up with it. You need to get the couch there anyways, right? tongue.gif

Buy the futon sofa from IKEA. They're foldaaable!!! smile.gif They can act as a small bed too.... wink.gif They can pass through normal doors and theyre lightweight.

Is it a school-owned apartment? Because you can always ask fellow students for help. Whenever I had to move stuff for my dorm room, random nice people always helped out.

You should ask some people to help you. It's at your college, right?
It could be like a little icebreaker to meet new people too.
Nothing builds a friendship like teamwork! Haha.

ikea is your friend.

lots of cheap sofas made for dorms or first apartments.
get a futon or just get a sofa thats literally a wooden frame with cushions on it.
if all else fails, folding chairs?
