i think the way they advertise the battery is on continuous play, which in this case would be 15 hours of continuous uninterrupted play.

because if you go and switch songs, with the lcd on, especially on ipods, it certainly does drain the battery.

Yah, it takes lot of battery life to start any electronic devices. Could be the batteries you have too.

apple and other companies give "ideal" numbers when they won't hold up in the real world.

They test it at a very low volume with all the settings off. therefore, it is 15 hours of battery life. But no one really listens to it at such a low volume.

Yeah, but it's better than most HDD players. The flash memory saves a lot of battery life.

Thanks for the heads up though, I was under the impression that the Nano had a good battery life. Damn.

Sigged for life.

it all depends on how you use your ipod. for example idk if nano has this but changing the EQ and changing songs, clicker, leaving black light, etc.

^Yeah
Equalizer, backlight, bitrate of the song, seeking (probably irrevalent for flash), how often you charge, how much wear you put into the battery and how loud you listen to it at all play a role in it.

Yeah, it dies pretty fast; actually... mine was like ~3 hours of listening to it nonstop. I'm probably doing something seriously wrong hahah.
