Hi. I was reinstalling windows xp and i chose to repair it and when i get to the regional and language part it says it will take 32 minutes but it already has been there for more than and hour!
if i shut my computer down during this process, will this harm my computer?????
i dont know if i did it right, because my computer caught a virus so i am trying to reinstall it
PLEASE HELP ME THANKS!!!!
(THIS IS HAPPENING ON MY OTHER COMPUTER BY THE WAY)

^We'll if you got a virus, I would suggest you to just do a complete reinstall and not repair.
I would not suggest stopping it in the middle of repairing though. Just wait.

it will continue basically from the last time the computer restated. So.. just try again. Or eject the cd and push it back in to see if it does anything

actually once you get past the blue/grey screen windows has basically finished installing the operating system, the extra screens are just for user customization and tweaks before you finish, you can restart if you wish, just be cautious
for future reference try to create partitions for your computer when you format the hard drive and leave the operating system on one part and all of your media on another
