I have the wireless card thing inside my computer (I forget what it's called) but I still can't seem to get the 'wireless network connection' icon to show up. Or maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.
I called the company I got my router from and they just told me to call my internet provider.. but then that got me sort of confused since, didn't I get the wireless card thing from their company..?
Also, my wireless worked before if that helps.
Sorry if I'm not making sense at all. I'm bad at this tech stuff ):
thanks!

Is there a wireless router installed on wherever you're trying to get the internet from? Because even though you have a wireless card on your laptop doesn't mean you'll get wireless internet unless there's a wireless router connected to the modem -- at least from my knowledge of internet connection.

did you try going to your control panel > network connections or something like that ?
also please specify what kind of OS you have, (Vista, XP etc) because you may have to look in different places.
sometimes my wireless icon disappears and all i need to do is go to control panel or a simple restart :]
or option #2
it depends on what kind of router you have. some routers can only be hooked up to a computer with a cable to receive internet. not all of them are able to have wireless connection to use for laptops etc.
but if you do then try going here : http://192.168.1.1/
i have Verizon and my router is able to be used for wireless. (tech support taught me how to do this)
but you need like the login id and pw, i just tried something like admin, admin. if you are able to go to that link, pm me and i'll try to go thru a step by step for you.
if the link doesnt work for you then sorry not sure what to do
