live with my parents and still go to school
i buy lunch occasionally when i get sick of my mom's cooking...my dad can't cook for beans so i dont even bother trying what he makes.

i work at a learning center for kids after class and they have snacktime so i always get an order of snack for myself, it isn't much but hey free food!

it's currently a split for me.
making food is really...time consuming.
i usually buy lunch at a supermarket called spark or buy it at 7-11.
if i buy it at spark, i usually pay about $5-$6. the lunch is $3, the yogurt is $1 and my tea is $1.

dinner, i tend to eat frozen foods haha...
i write an important thing, and do not let's finish. a way of writing for freedom.

Majority of the time i bring my own food to work eg sandwiches or homecooked noodles/rice/pasta, only treat myself once or twice a fortnight.
But yeah, saves me a heap of money that way.

I brown bag it and go out for lunch too. On days when the dinner that my mom makes is extra yummy, I will pack some for lunch or when I feel like cooking for myself, or when I ask my dad to make me a sandwich (yes, my dad still makes sandwiches for me and I'm 23 tongue.gif ). The days when I have no lunch I will buy lunch, but max I will spend for lunch is about $10.

i haven't packed my lunch (or my mom hasn't packed my lunch for me...) since I was in middle school. There is just something about buying food wherever you are at the moment, and not to mention the VARIETY, especially for me. My school has an au bon pain soup section and it has a different kind of soup everyday. I love that, and I know I wouldn't be able to take the time to make ALL those soups. Plus my school actually has a fresh salad bar (they change it up every couple of hours) so I just take whatever is there. Cold pasta, fresh veggies and a hot soup is what I love to eat for dinner. Lunch, it's mostly beans, hummus and sometimes a baked potato. Nothing too expensive or extravagant.

Right out of college I used to be more frugal spending about $200 a month on food, but now a year later that almost doubled. huh.gif

hmmm First week of school I ate out the entire school week... cost total:25 bucks xD I forgot to make food ...

the 2nd week of school I made food: but my family ate it x_X.

Nothing is going so well, I buy grocerys for the household, make food and they eat everything X_X geez... how am I suppose to calculate how much I spend for myself.... D=

I'll try again... but I think it's cheaper for me to eat out.. (if I wanted to be a cheapo LOL I can just eat $1.07 spicy chicken sandwich from Carl's Jr. biggrin.gif

LOL...sorry your lunch experiment was a fail, but if you can eat out for that cheap, then it's no big loss. biggrin.gif

when I lived by myself, I used to get take-out instead of brown bagging it.
now, I live at home with my parents, I'm more likely to bring in food, but I haven't recently since my parents haven't bought any chicken. I eat out a lot still.

Lunch time baller. I know it's bad, but i want to change this habit of mine. I'm developing an interest in cooking and would like to start bringing/making my meals more often.
