so its the first week of school and I regret taking history!!!!!! i dont even know why i decided to take it because i hate history in general!!! however im allowed to drop/add courses during the first two weeks of school BUT most of the classes are full and im trying to find a class that starts at the same time as history and i can but the classes are already full. And im also scared because if i do drop history and replace it with something else im afraid that ill be behind and stuff. so what will you guys do if you were me?

if i were you, i would go to the class that i am trying to add, and ask the instructor if you can add the class before you drop your history class. if he/she can't fit you in, then don't take the risk.

Pretty much agree with dopa. I've done this before. But if everything is full....just tough it out!

I agree too. Go talk to a school advisor as well, they will help you scope out all your possible options.
I'm assuming if you drop it you HAVE to replace it? Because if you have a lot of credit hours, maybe you could just drop it, period. That's what I did this semester; I had 17 credit hours lined up but I dropped a class so now I'm down to 14. Not too bad still.

Personally I would just go through with it. I'm taking Calculus now and I despise math intensely but I have to take it since it's required. History is one of the core college courses and you'll have to take eventually anyway so it's best if you just start now and work through it. Your school should have tutoring centers or study mentors that should help you if you have trouble with history

Do you hate history in general or was it the teacher? xD you should search around for an interesting teacher.. cause any interesting teacher can make your most hated subject fun ^__^
I'd suggest dropping it and then take history when you have a friend that can take the same class or shop around for a fun teacher...
but then again I go to school that does quarter system which is easier to drop the classes and wait for next quarter rather than semester system.
I don't think you'd be that behind... unless you end up dropping more than one class
but if you really think that stick with it ^__~

you could try and find something else to replace it, but i think it might be hard at this point. and also, i think at this point you'd definitely be behind on some stuff already. do you know if your school or the department specifically hands out special codes that places you into a class that is full?
you could drop it that course too as long as you have enough credits (assuming you're a full time student). or like somebody else said, you have to tough it out.
i'm taking a history course too and the homework is pretty intense (75 pages per class).

If you really hate history that much and don't want to take it yet, you could just drop it as long as it doesn't take away from financial aid, full time status, or anything that is really beneficial to you. It makes you a part time student to drop the class, just tough it out since it's just one semester and you'll need to take it sooner or later.

I agree with dopa and StephyT
I signed up for 13 credit hours this semester. I ended up dropping one course...The instructor I signed up for ended up being fired and they got someone else to take the position..Everything was put up last minute (online course) I just didn't like how things were looking and the replacement seemed like a total witch LOL..I'm looking to raise my GPA so I didn't think staying in the course would be a good option for me. I dropped it like it was hot (lame I know haha) I knew I wouldn't be able to find a replacement course to take though..but I also know I wasn't the only one that dropped it...currently left with 10hrs..it did end up taking from the amount I get back though..

same here, i'm currently taking 16 credits, but i'm thinking about dropping a course, since i'm taking 2 writing-intensive courses, plus an advance class which also has a lot of papers as well, i'm not sure if i'll be able to handle the workload so yea i'm in a dilemma...lol If you really don't think you could handle the class, you could drop it, but if it's one of the required courses, i suggest you take it.
