well, Obama is half white, just that his skin is brown.
I wouldn't vote for a president based on their skin color or nationality.

Just like the poster above me stated, Obama is indeed half Caucasian. But, the colour of one's skin shouldn't be the reason for them getting votes or no votes, that's just discrimination.

It's rather interesting how so many people emphasize the fact that he's "half-white".
Many times it's phrased as "he's not black, he's half white" and I'm thinking "why does that matter?"

Ooh. Someone I know in real life is half black, except her skin is real pale. lol. Real pretty too.

Anyways, I don't live in America so I never voted for him!
I am so bored and I wanted a signature here even if it's a pointless one. :]
Did you read this? Yay! I succeeded in making you waste seconds of your time.
Yes. I typed more words into my signature because I wanted it to look longer.

okay okay. let's not get all technically here.
but i feel like, many people voted for him because if he did become the president, he would break the colour barrier.
oh hi.

I would still have voted for him. He is an amazing speaker and a young inspiration. No matter what the skin color is, he would've had the same personality.

I'm thinking that no matter what though, Obama would have had to be voted in as the president as people around the world like here (Australia) would think of Americans as racist and whatnot.I mean you all have your reasons for voting for him but I'm just saying my thoughts.

He would have had made smaller impact, thats for sure. He would have still won, being young and being a Democrat - but now that I think of it, he might not have been made Democrat candidate over Hilary if he was white.

It shouldn't matter what colour or race the candidate is, It all comes down to what they have to offer. Being another colour is just a bonus.

This doesn't apply to me since I live in the UK but I believe one of the main reasons he got elected as president is because he's black.

as a mixed person, i find it very annoying that so many people like to label biracial people as one race.
halle berry is also half-white, it makes no sense to me that she was called the first black woman to win the oscar.
kelly hu is half-white, it makes no sense that she's called asian (chinese).

it matters to me and people like me because we're tired of people picking one part of what makes us whole and only rooting for (or demonizing) that one part.
i write an important thing, and do not let's finish. a way of writing for freedom.

I would still have voted for Obama is he was blue.
He was the best from all the candidates, and his race had nothing to do with that.

Race is an outdated term that's based on superficial features. Once interracial comes into the picture, the very concept of race must be re-defined.

Not entirely true but I do think his skin colour played a plausible role in being elected. Imagine a box of red crayon with just one blue, wouldn't it draw some attention? Well, since this man is truely a great inspiration and have fascinating leadership, he still would've stood a chance.

He's a terrible president. Want reasons?

- The stimulus package, which is going to double our deficit.

- The scare tactics he is using to rush the package through instead of letting people have a couple more days to read through it.

- Trying to get control of the census, which is a power grab because the census controls how districts. The Dems would be calling Bush a dictator if he tried to do this!

and also because he sucks socialists balls. He hasn't even shown his birth certificate yet.

"Well, I haven't received my check that he promised me. He also said he could walk on water, but I haven't seen that."

I mean, really. You'd have to be insane to think of Obama is a good president. He's full of BS.

Oh I think he still would have won if he was white btw only because the way he spoke was manipulative and promising and also he was younger. I read some of these posts and I'm just apalled at how many people are for Obama.

Race matters. Voting is a popularly contest. Either way you either voting for a D-Bag or turd sandwich.

i don't get why so many people think that race didn't really matter.

all i heard during the elections were:
"omg. we might have a black president!"
and things along those lines.
oh hi.
